Question about talcum powder

Hello,

When a kid, I use to spread the powder, after a shower: it was pleasant experience and it smelled very good.

I bought a pack of it, recently, but I feel reluctant to use it before asking about it here.

As I would be about to apply the following ingredients on my skin, I am not sure if it is a good idea.

I would be greateful for any answer in regard of the following ingredients - is there an "avoid at all cost"?:
  • talc
  • parfum
  • dipropylene glycol
  • citrus aurantium peel oil
  • citrus limon peel oil
  • pelargonium graveolens flower oil
  • alpha-inonone
  • alpha-isomethyl ionone
  • benzyl benzoate
  • cinnamyl alcohol
  • citronellol
  • coumarin
  • geraniol
  • hexamethylindanopyran
  • limonene
  • linalool
  • linalyl acetate
  • pinene
  • vanillin
Thank you in advance for any suggestion! :-)

As I have a long time tendency to sweaty feet I'm applying talcum powder with a slight menthol fragrance (0.1%) of a local brand on my feet/toes daily for several decades now and never had any adverse impact from it. It's very effective and comforting. I'm wearing sandals indoors to increase airflow around the toes and that helps also.

Thanks @Kay Kim @lilyalic @Palinurus @irjO :-)

I am a sweater and I would have been appreciating all the positive effects of talc - such as good smell, and some absorbing features. I guess that I will remain with my technique of changing socks twice per day. Talc seems to be a big "niet". It's not a big deal, as it's much about comfort, after all.

I have been checking a bit more in regard of the asbestos component ("amiante" in French) and it seems that it's the component "talc" itself that would be "asbestos", in some cases. Talc is some mineral ground into a fine powder and depending on the source mineral, the powder can feature asbestos. I suppose that we should study the original mineral used in the various brands, but they just write "talc". And I suppose that they could change their suppliers, during the year.

And now that summer is not far, it will be time to go sandals! It's a bit chilly out there for now.
