I know that such an idea may involve a significant investment of time and energy, but has it ever been suggested to YOU ALL to make your library accessible online as PDF files? Of course, I'm not sure of the legal issues that may be associated with doing so, but might it be both beneficial and efficient to allow those that "check-out" books from your library to scan at least one book (on a voluntary basis, of course) and upload those scans to this site? I would definitely be willing to volunteer my "time" for such a project. Just a thought....

I'm pretty sure you need either to have the permission of the publisher or own the copyright for such a project. Montalk tried to do this with a bunch of books on his site and had to take it down.
