When you read the word (or hear it) "Halloween".... what is the first image that comes to your mind? Just one or two words is all I'm looking for.

Children masquerading and begging for candy.
This custom was not known in the country of my birth (Germany).

A pumpkin.

Probably because of the several hundreds of them, my workplace sells every year that time. :P

Cause that it is also not a tradition in my country (but it is more and more common) I think of: America and pumpkin

The first image that came was a pumpkin, too. Then I thought 'My, you're so indoctrinated!' :)
and the second image that came was a witch on a broom. :P

Before coming to Belgium, I would've thought candy and costumes (witches). Now seeing how they're pushing it out here, I mostly think American capitalism.

I don't want ya'll to be thinking about this, I just want to know the image that pops into your head.

That is also true for my country.

Several years ago, before american movies and all the things that were brought with them, it would be pooring hot wax through the keyhole and ghosts.

Now the first thing that pops in my mind when you say hallowin is candy.

EDIT: well, several yers ago hallowin wasn't know as such in my country, it had different name, still do but now it's remembered mostly by people after 30, so the first image it produce is candy.

Witches, then costumes and "trick or treat".
