Quick question regarding POTUS Christmas Vacation.

Have a quick question to ask before I forget it.

Just had the local morning news on and they said something that kind of surprised me.

Has it always been standard that when a president and family go on vacation they tell when they are leaving, when they are supposed to be arriving and the location they are flying to?

I have never really noticed this done, but that does not mean anything, I really dont pay much attention to what they say outside of getting the days weather and current road conditions. This just stuck out to me for some reason. I thought it a bit odd.

Maybe it's just a way to appear open and to show he has nothing to hide, that he is just a normal, tired American citizen who needs a holiday at the end of the year?
If that is the case, I think he is sadly mistaken, as his holiday - which is funded by American taxpayers - is rumored to cost 24,500 $ a week. Not exactly your average Joe holiday...
