Racing heart beat

I just had a freaky incident. :O
This morning I took my kids to the park and when coming home I suddenly got this racing heart beat. It was so fast and hard that I was amazed at what was going on.
It started while I was getting into the house. I looked down and saw my chest jumping up and down! At the same time I was calm. I took the shoes off the kiddies and got a glass of water, but couldn't even concentrate on that and it came to mind a story/thread of someone using their vagus nerve to calm his heart down at the hospital so I immediately started pipe breathing and went to turn on the AC. After about 8-10 times of pipe breathing it died down very fast and it was gone. My heartbeat was back to normal and my body felt like nothing had ever happened and everything was ok.

Now here it has been hot and today it's around 35c but I'm pretty used to it and having small kids I go out in the mornings and we stay in the shade. I really don't think it was that. Today was a typical day and we were all feeling fine and no stress or anything. I really don't know where this came from and have never experienced anything like it. (I have had some irregular heartbeats in the past but it was rare and I haven't had it for a long time)
Anyone have any similar experience. Any input would be welcome!

It is frequent to have palpitations when there is electrolyte imbalances, but also when there is a lack of nutrients like CoQ10, magnesium and omega 3s which promote a healthy heart rhythm. Once the electrical activity of the heart is vulnerable, it can be set off track by anything: stress, an infection, being hot, dehydration, etc. Vagal maneuvers are usually helpful to calm the heart's rhythm.

It has recommended supplementation. It is important to do the diet as well, as vulnerable people can have heart palpitations when they have evil additives like MSG, but also food intolerances.

Thanks so much Psyche! I found the thread very interesting indeed. Well today after I posted my problem I went grocery shopping and got some magnesium and fish oil which I had run out of. I'm going to look into the other supplements. I'm also working on a healthier diet for me and my family, taking it one step at a time ;)
Thanks again for the valuable information! :)
