Interesting that a power surge was mentioned! The same thing was promulgated for a while on 7/7 at the start of the London Tube bombings:-

Having just reread "Stranger than Fiction" (brilliant synopsis of world sit) makes me wonder whether an event on 6/6/2006 is to be the next 'blockbuster' (odd expression, that)...
