Reading, MI: Glowing Balls, Changing Color & Moving Fast/Not Moving at All...

A Disturbance in the Force
I just wanted to post a situation that I experienced Thursday 6/11 to see if anyone else is seeing the same things? I was visiting friends in the middle of nowhere (Reading, MI) and about 2 in the morning I saw what looked like a satellite passing across the sky, I pointed it out to my two friends with me and watched as it when from a very high rate of speed to a full stop, moved backward and then down a bit on the horizon where it just stopped. We grabbed some binoculars and tried to see it a little better. At first when I looked at the object I thought my hand must have been shaking because it seemed to be shaking, I refocused on a nearby star and no movement, went back to the object and focused more. I saw what looked like two cyphers moving randomly joined by what looked like a bolt of electricity. The colors of the objects then began to change going from a white to red to blue to green and back.

As one of my friends was taking a look for themselves I noticed that there was another light to the south that seemed to be making the same light transitions, then one to the north and another which seemed to be almost above us. After looking at each through the banoculars each one appeared to be behaving in exactly the same manor. After watch them for about 45min to an hour we saw what looked like a jet flying at very low level (no more than 1500ft) approaching my friends house. As it approached the landing lights were turned on directly over as it passed over - no sound. Once the craft hit the treeline the lights were turned off and went out of sight. We continued to watch the other orbs in the sky for another hour and not one of them moved any further but were gone when we got up in the morning. I am now back in Windsor, CO and see what look like the same lights spaced in the sky tonight - is anyone else seeing this?

Did you have the opportunity to make pictures and/or videos of those lights during this long observation?

is anyone else seeing this?

Personally I don't remember experiencing such kind of observation but there's plenty of strange observations related in this forum and particularly in the "UFO Phenomena" section.

Seeing it's your very first post here, I wish you a warm welcome to the SOTT forum.

You might want to introduce yourself in the dedicated section so we could get to know you better.

This month we have had a few days with clear skies where I live, so I've had a number of opportunities to get a good view of the stars. In every single occasion I have seen these curious moving 'stars'. I could understand that a couple were satellites, or perhaps even airplanes flying at very high altitudes. The thing is that there are a LOT of them. All of my life I've been watching the skies and I had never seen so many of those things at once. In an hour I have counted almost 20, which means one every little more than 3 minutes. You can see some moving simultaneously as others. So are they all human made? I find it hard to believe that we alone have crowded the skies so much, and in a short period of time (just a couple of years ago I could only spot one or two, if any, after an hour).

Although they all move in straight or gently curved lines, some increase and decrease their brightness at intervals and others are invisible except for sudden flashes as they move along. Some are as bright as the brightest star, though most are as bright as your average star. They also have variable speeds. In one occasion I saw two of them apparently 'descending' towards the horizon next to each other, one brighter than the other, until they slowly dimmed and disappeared. Those two in particular looked quite 'unnatural'.

I don't know that those things are but it is clear that there is a lot of activity up there lately.

You just described exactly what I've been seeing over the skies of central, Wisconsin. A friend of mine who lives a little further north has also seen these lights. They seem too bright to be a satellite and often aren't going in the direction of most satellite orbits. Often they would go in a straight line varying in brightness. Sometimes they would just fade in and out entirely. This was all noted on occasions when there were no visible clouds in the skies.

I only really started noticing them just prior to June, but that could be that I'm outside in the night a lot more now that it is spring here.
