Can anyone give me some recommendations of reliable news sources on the web where current issues are discussed that are not mis-information and such kind of stuff.

At the moment I only know of SOTT.

I dont know if there is anywhere on the site that lists, them. I have no idea what to type on the search bar to get to this place.

Have you taken a look on the sites that SOTT gets their news stories from?

All sources are going to have distortions of one kind or another. Some sites can be more truthful for a while and then get vectored in a disinfo. direction after establishing some credibility. So it wouldn't be a good idea for SOTT to officially endorse a list of sites. The fun is to find out for yourself and even play "spot the disinfo." If you develop discernment then all sources can be valuable to you.

Hope that helps.

I have just started doing that whilst I read some of the articles.

This helps. I'll try finding out for myself and being cautious about being fed any kind of dis-info from other sources. I just hope my discernment skills are up to scratch.

You can always got to CNN.com or Fox News and play "spot the lie." It usually doesn't take long, as their spins are so obvious, but it is one way to work on raising your deception-detection.

For some great practice examples, you can also do custom searches on SOTT to look for these types of articles, in a more truthified state, with commentary explanations.

Try going up to the search box at SOTT and type :incomment agenda

This will return all the articles where a SOTT editor has felt the need to use the the word "agenda" in a comment, with interesting results. You can play around with the advanced search features to find many interesting approaches to increasing your media discernment.

Hope this helps you on your quest. :)
