Until more recently I haven't contributed here on the forum all that much and in turn doesn't allow myself to be known by many here.
One area of my life that I give a considerable amount of focus to is my involvement with a women's flat track roller derby league here where I live. We are owned and operated solely by the skaters in our membership. We produce live sporting events ("Bouts") each month during the Summer generating most of our revenue for our non-profit. This allows us to continue skating as well as make considerable donations to community causes.
My partner, Jonathan, and myself work together to supply much of the graphics and designs for the league's PR. I've really grown to love this sport more than I could imagine, and have come to appreciate more and more the "printing" and "poster" industries as we continue to produce material for the league's use.
Here are two pieces I've worked on recently. The one in all colour is a 5ft by 5ft cut out style, acrylic painting for spectators to stick their faces in and "become a derby girl" - the other is a personal project. I had considered designing and offering printed derby posters that I would then peddle at games or weekend events to make some extra money. The idea is on the back burning for now. The black and white pencil drawing is a draft of a poster to be.
