It reminds of the Humboldt squid with its red coloring and agressive nature - but this is normally found in the Eastern Pacific

Good find Mr.Cyan this reminds me of the 23 October 1994 session:

Q: (L) Are there any huge monsters at the bottom of the ocean?

A: Giant squid about 1000 feet long. There are about 20,000 of them more or less.

But that looks like around 30 feet, can't imagine what 1000 feet would look like

Yeah i agree, while it is an amazing video of a squid at sea, its not terrifying - i just copied the RT article title as the subject for the post - i think RT realised it too, and when i just checked again they changed the article title to :"Giant Squid alert: beast from deep freaks out Russian sailors" :)
