Hi to all,
I have found a lecture of Robert Sapolsky, a Stanford neuroscientist, on depression. It basically explains the chemical imbalances in the brain, certain genes and neurotransmitters involved in depression. It also touches a little bit of neuroanatomy and psychology aspects of depression. It emphasizes the importance of stress and childhood traumas like physical abuse and loss of loved ones in the likelihood of depression.
It is a entertaining lecture, easy to follow and the subject is really interesting. Yet it is kind of long, 52 minutes and it may take a while to watch it. But if you have time and if you want to get a background of basic mechanism, then I suggest you watch it. :)
