Scientists recreate the plague! (oh really)

Scientists have found the cause of the Justinian Plague and the Black Plague of the Middle Ages - it's a bacteria they found in the teeth of a couple of 1,500 year old dead Germans. So bacteria is responsible for the plague... hmmm. Or is it a virus infecting the bacteria.

Comets don't carry bacteria do they?

Pretty cheesy reference to the horror movie "28 Days Later" - seems like they are softening us up... something not right here.

Scientists may have taken a page out of the movie "28 Days Later" when studying the Justinian Plague. Researchers looked at the DNA found in the teeth of two Germans who died 1,500 years ago of the Justinian Plague, and used the DNA scrapings to recreate the bacteria. They found that the bacteria caused both the Justinian Plague and the Black Plague of the Middle Ages.

Viruses, not really being alive, would be better suited to 'survive' a ride on a comet. I guess some adaptive bacteria could do it as well.

In the attached PDF you can see the orginal study.

The plague was most likely not caused by Yersinia pestis. The article I posted is probably misdirection, sorry for the noise, belongs in the cointelpro section maybe.
