Sea buckthorn and Omega 6

Hi all,

Due to some health issues in the past couple of months, I've been looking for ways to detox my body and combat inflammation. I came across sea buckthorn, which it seems is an all-around good plants. I've looked around the forum, but found little about this plant, hence why I opened this thread. The seeds, especially, are supposedly good for liver, heart and dry eyes. It's apparently very helpful for a lot of other conditions, such as dry skin. From what I've read, it seems like the seeds provides more benefit than the berries. However, I'm not so sure as the seeds contains a richer amount of Omega 6 and it seems, no Omega 7. For example, a brand I've found, Seabuck Wonders, which retail sea buckthorn seeds oil capsules, seems quite decent, has the following nutrition for 2x softgel (1000mg):

Linoleic Acid (Omega 3) 31-36%
Linoleic Acid (Omega 6) 32-37%
Oleic Acid (Omega 9) 20-25%

But from what I understood, Omega 6 are not very good for your health. I'm sorry I'm completely confused. Has anyone used sea buckthorn? If yes, what would they recommend? Berry or seed? Although I've seen good things about the seed, it seems that Omega 7 is in the berries instead.

I don't think Omega 6 is bad so much as we don't need any extra in the diet.
I have taken sea buckthorn (berry/Omega 7) in a few different products. I have no way to gauge efficacy but it is 'in the rotation' as it were.
If interested in detox you may want to look at Inositol Hexaphosphate.
Thanks for the response! I actually didn't know Inositol Hexaphosphate. It's the first time I hear of it. I'll definitely check it out:) Have you used it yourself? If yes, did it improve your health? Also, is there a brand that you would recommend?

I used IP6 briefly to lower ferritin levels, it does seem to work for that.
Purchased 500g from BulkSupplements and haven't even come close to using it up yet.

I think if you're using this as a supplement (low doses in terms of fat content) it won't matter much.
