Hi all,
Perhaps the forum could advise me: I've read the wave series and would like to start on some of Gurdjieff's writings. I casually mentioned, out loud to myself the other day, that it would be rather helpful if I had someone to work with. I then forgot about it. This is a very small town, so the likelihood of finding someone to work with was, maybe 0.01%. The next day a friend I've known for ten or so years arrived and, seeing the pages I'd printed out on Gurdjieff (Wiki), she said. "Oh, the fourth way. I'd really love love to get back to that Any chance we could look at that material together?" Kinda shook me.

I have to wonder who sent her? Synchronicity of that nature concerns me. 4D sts? Should I proceed with studying 'G' with her, but with great caution? I am still identifying a lot of programmes within myself and am working on disabling them (I let them run, observe them and ignore them).

Sigh! Some advice would really be appreciated. If I'm out of line posting this, feel free to tell me. I'm still a baby on the forum.

I live in a small town that has a group. If there's something in your town you might be able to find out on google. Otherwise, they sometimes post adds for meetings in the newspaper.

My advice would be to study these things right here, step by step, and don't hesitate to ask questions no matter what they may be.

You have access only a keyboard away to people from all around the world working together.

You may wish to start with what the forum has to say about synchronicity - the search function is your best friend.
 
A lot of older people read Gurdjieff when they were younger and forgot about him, so it's not as unusual as one might think.
 
As Gurdjieff said, a man cannot wake up alone. He needs the help of someone who is already awake. Note the emphasis on 'already awake' - two sleeping people helping each other won't get you far. Networking with those who can help you will.
