(CBS4) BOSTON Prosecutors say a Boston woman is a serial forger who stole some $250,000 by using the personal information of neighbors, co-workers and strangers.

31-year-old Karen Keester pleaded not guilty during her arraignment in Brighton Friday. She's accused of multiple counts of forgery, identity theft, larceny and other fraud charges. She's being held without bail.

Prosecutors say Keester worked for a temp agency and would obtain people's information through her jobs. She's accused of stealing paychecks and using the personal information to obtain student loans. Prosecutors say the scam netted some $250,000.

CBS4 has learned one of her employers was Planned Parenthood. A spokesman released this statement:

"We are in contact with the Suffolk County DA's Office about a theft that occurred at Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. We understand that the person involved is being investigated for similar conduct with other employers. We are cooperating fully with the DA's investigation. As this is a matter before the courts, we have no further comment at this time."

Keester has lived in at least seven Boston residences in the past six years and is believed to have held driver's licenses in three different names.
