Discussing serial killers and recent cases with a friend the other day we came to the conclusion that there are many more out there than are actually found out. If a serial killer is someone who has killed more than four or so people over a period of time I'll bet the cleverest ones watch csi or whatever and hone their modus operandi. In the third world and beyond there are probably many witch doctors and medicine men who can get away with murder. A case of a child whose mutilated corpse was found floating in the Thames a few years ago comes to mind. A lot of murders seem to be classed as one offs. Children are often trafficked into other countries and disappear without trace. Harold Shipman also comes to mind as being someone who very nearly got away with it and only failed by being greedy and forging the will of one of his victims. Seems murder is quite a normal human activity when you read the news. Yet people are always surprised when it occurs. There have been some absolutely horrific cases. Isn't this a sign of the times?....when mans depravity to man knows no bounds. Who was the worst serial killer? And does he/she perhaps hold political office? Isn't that a sign of pure psychopathy when you are respectable on the outside but using your charm and guile to get away with murder.
