Everyone probably already saw this video.
Here are my two cents as a professional Captain!Clearly the ship is moving astern which tells me one thing, the ship has engine/throttle issue.
Knowing how most of the ships these days uses electronic command boxes to give commands to the engine I am 100% sure that this is yet another case of electronic throttle command boxes failure!
Not the first one and not the last one for sure! In a year us sailors have approximately around 3000 accidents due to this issue!
When all the naval architects and Maritime Safety Agency will learn and start understanding that computers and electronic equipment do not belong to ships!
Not so long ago ( 5 weeks ) I witnessed same situation, where a yacht had his throttle stuck on ahead and hit few yachts in port of Palma de Mallorca. Bring back hard wire throttle commands, stop with your bullshit electronic command boxes. They don’t work!!!
