Sightings spark taniwha fever

Recent sightings of strange objects in Lake Omapere have locals claiming a taniwha has been awoken.
Matiu Fifield and his brother spotted something unusual in the lake when they were standing on a Lake Rd bridge last month.
"I saw two red lights reflected in the water and turned to Ritch. We couldn't believe it, they looked like eyes. Next thing, we turn around and they're gone," Matiu says.
