This simple experiment seems illustrative of many concepts related to the challenges of "The Work", such as transmarginal inhibition, frequency fence, our mechanical nature, generational trauma, epigenetic vulnerability, learned helplessness, etc.

Reminds me of 'learned helplessness'. Some of the experiments conducted on that were horrible for the subjects but also very revealing about the effects of conditioning.
