To me, the word "immunize" suggests a simple, quick, and fast-acting solution. I agree that awareness is probably the key to protection, but I do not think that there is a quick and easy way to attaining that level of education and discernment.
Also, perhaps I am not reading your intent correctly, but it seems to me that "immunize a group" ignores the question of whether those people actually WANT that immunization. It would be easy to say, "yes, of course they do." but until you really ask, I think you are just imposing your own wishes and values onto them.
Again, I do agree with your wish to help people become aware so that they can protect and defend themselves. When I feel that someone is "asking" for advice or insight on narcissists, psychopaths, manipulators, etc. I try to give them hints and plant the seeds that can help them learn. I think the book "The Sociopath Next Door" by Martha Stout is a good introduction for someone who is ready and willing to get started on his or her path, and I think "Snakes in Suits" by Robert Hare is a good follow-up for those who have played in the corporate playground.
Just how bleak is this picture?
Bleak? I think you may be projecting your own perceptions and values onto the world. Yes, there will be much work, discomfort, pain, and "loss" in the days ahead, but there is also the freedom to play your own part in the story.
