I live in the US now, though I was born in another country. My family came to the US when I was about 4. When I was about 5, I had a recurring dream. In the dream, I would wake up in an unknown bedroom even though in the dream I knew it was my bedroom, and then walk down a hallway from the bedroom to living room. In the living room, there was a painting on the wall. The painting was of a couple pieces of fruit. Sometimes in the dream, all the lights would be off; other times lights would be on. Sometimes my parents would be in the living room, and other times no one was there. I've never had recurring dreams except for this one during this time period.
During this same time period, about 5 years old, I woke up in the middle of the night once. Where my bed was positioned, if I looked down at my feet, I could see the bedroom doorway and part of the hallway. It was dark, and I don't remember why I looked at the doorway. I saw a faintly glowing green hand coming into view, as if someone was in the hallway and slowly sticking their hand across the doorway into view. The hand was bumpy or scaly. I was so scared that I simply pulled the covers over my head. That was all that I remember of the experience. But I've never forgotten it. I don't have many memories of when I was very young, and my spouse would agree that my memory in general is not very good.
Later in my college years, I was at my parent's home and happened on an old photo album. There were never many photos of the time before I came to the US, so I was interested in flipping through the album. To my shock, in one photo that was taken in the living room was the painting of fruit from those recurring dreams.
I have always thought that these 2 experiences meant something, but I do not know what the meaning is. Maybe someone has some insight?
