A myriad of 'scenes' last night. Some of the symbolism's fairly Obvious.
One memorable scene involved seeing this house and realizing that someone from my Live Journal friends list was inside (seemed to be fixing a light switch, perhaps to put a new switchplate on) at the top of the house. I went up a ladder or something and started talking to her through the little window from outside. She then opened that window, as if for the 1st time, and there were cobwebs. I saw a Monarch butterfly, which quickly became caught in a spiderweb there (and there was a spider). Even as I angsted over whether I should interfere and free the butterfly, or not butt in (since, after all, spiders have to eat, too), there was a little gust of breeze, and the butterfly was knocked free (or was able to wriggle out), whereupon I was quite pleased. (Perhaps partly from not having had to come to a decision.)
A bit earlier in my sequence of wandering, had gone into this building, and was with someone (not someone I recognized upon having awakened), and she suddenly said there'd been an accident (some kind of explosion - hey, I saw The Dark Knight Rises last night; was all about the explodey). We quickly went further in to an area where there were these little self-serve life pods (was like getting into a refrigerator); we'd have to get into these to survive. She got into one and shut the door; problem was, I wasn't sure how to work them, and in fact wasn't even sure which of the other equipment in the room I was supposed to use. I started to open one door, but liquid nitrogen seemed to seep out; I decided 'I'm not getting in there!' As I dithered, several other Amused people came into the room, with fake body parts they were going to strew around the room (one of them was carrying a wig, at any rate). I got that they wanted to set up the denouement of a big prank of theirs - so that the other woman, upon re-emerging, would think someone had died in the room from the (fake?) accident. I was at once relieved the accident apparently wasn't 'real', but was also really disgusted at them for wanting to set up such a poor taste and mean practical joke.
Even earlier in the sequence of 'wandering', I'd found myself in a book or gift store; I looked at one object and wanted to purchase it, but a bunch of people came in, and the owners started to put the items away and rearrange the space, perhaps for a meeting (ie, it was their space, and they could disassemble the shop to repurpose the shop for a different use if they wanted to). However, when I explained to one of the 'owners', I was allowed to purchase the item (was like a really tiny, decorative model/plaque) before I left.
If some dreams are indeed 'messages'....from self, even possibly from 'others'....not terribly thrilled about the tenor of these.
