Something positive

I thought I would share my good fortune with you all since it has turned out to be such an wonderful day. (I took Friday off)
Through word of mouth, mom and I were directed to this herbal store in town. It has been here quite some time but they don't advertise, except through word of mouth, so unless you meet someone who has been there... anyway. This woman, Donna, makes her own herbs, mix's them up, makes herbal tinctures, tea's, salves, and the company Alternative Health and Herbs Remedies has tons of products that help with a large variety of problems.
What has me so excited is that I went to meet her today, I explained my situation, that I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia (if that is what it is) and was having to take pain medications because of the horrible pain my body experiences. The insurance I have no longer supports the Chiropractic and Massage I was using to control the pain. She sold me a tincture called Nerves/Pain/MS Formula. It has Wild Lettuce, Valerian Root, and Wild Betony. It's under $16.00 a bottle and the bottle last's about a month. I have used it today, when I finally went to bed (that is when the pain intensifies) and I have had to adjust the dose a couple of times. When I wake up with the pain, (about every three hours or so) I took six drops and within 20 minutes I was able to go back to sleep. I found when I first get up I need to take 12 drops to keep the pain away until the body starts moving around. During the day its not so bad. I am also working on getting rid of the REAL problem so eventually I will not have the pain.
(I want to mention that the company is through a Nonprofit Evangelical Christian Ministry, which gave me some pause. I don't like religions. But the people were kind and professional and down to earth. )

So, it looks like the Codene and Flexril are shoved to the side. That is worth dancing around about!!!!
The site is below. Their prices are very reasonable. It has been a good day.

Thanks for letting me share. Tarri

glad you found something that worked, that is good news :)
I know someone with a similar condition, and I can't begin to imagine what it must be like being in almost constant pain, and never getting a proper night's sleep.

Have you looked into Reiki at all in your area? Finding one that is legitimate is tough, but from what I've heard and read it can help with the pain. Something to think about.

Glad you've found some relief, but are you familiar with the guaifenesin protocol? It works wonders.

Hi Tarri, I am glad to hear that the homeopathic remedies are working for you. I have MS ( they say) and I have been using Transdermal Magnessium Oil for muscle tightness/cramping/spasticity. It works wonders, I think. Might be worth looking into for fibromyalgia. I found it here: hxxp://internationalhealth.net

Hello, thanks everyone for your incouragement and responses .

Beau, I had been using Reiki, with great results last year, but the woman moved away the beginning of this year, and it had taken me several years to find a legit Reiki provider. Many of them just don't seem to do very well. So I am still looking. She was also one I used my insurance with before they dropped me, so I also have to figure in the cost now. Bummer.

Anart, I have never heard of Guaifenesin Protocol, but I have saved the site and will go over it tonight. Thank you.

50megz, the Transdermal Magnessium Oil sounds great right about now. Last night I took no Codene, but seemed to awaken about every one and one half to two hours. I would take the drops and go back to sleep for awhile. This morning I finally got out of bed at 10 (was in bed by 2am) and seriously thought about grabbing for the codene. But I pushed through it, moved around a bit, and the body pain subsided some but the muscles were awfully stiff and sore. I ended up taking a flexeril. I guess thats better than the codene.(?)

So it's not a miracle remedy but then its only been one day, so with the information I have from you guys, I will surely get through this.
So I'm off to enjoy my Saturday. Thanks so much again for your help.

The guaifenesin protocol :

I read through the website for this. Though guaifenesin does not carry side effects worth mentioning, I was a little dismayed at the herbs and suppliments I would no longer be able to take while on this protical. It states that they will block the effectiveness of the guaifenesin. And considering it is a protocol that would have to be "for life", I am not willing at this time to cut out my herbal products for this. I would like to try other methods first.

Its interesting that a respiratory drug would have these type of benifits.

The SOTT link was interesting. I had not realize that the pharma was taking an interest in this illness. I really don't believe I'm going to be willing to fill their pockets with more cash. Like they have our health in high regard. (Ya right!)

The article on Magnesium was interesting. I think Donna told me something about that. Will have to check back with her.

Thanks guys. Tarri

May I suggest homeopathy, based on what you wrote in the first post seems like a clear cut case for Rustox,
but if you decide to give it a try you need to go to proper consultation with good homeopath as it's bad practice to prescribe only on few symptoms, besides I am a vet :)

I understand that feeling - there is a LOT you have to avoid, but from personal experience, I cannot stress enough what an enormous difference the guai makes. Almost all my debilitating back pain is now gone - just gone. I never thought I'd be able to tie my shoes without wincing , or sneeze without bracing myself for the pain - and all of that pain is gone, as are many other symptoms. Once I started to improve on the guai, I literally felt ten years younger. fwiw.

Thanks anart.

Pain is a great incentive. I can't imagine not hurting. I think I will see how I can compromise with the quai and finding suppliments I can take that won't block it. I'll work on it.

Deckard, I have not heard of Rustox before. There doesn't seem to be alot on it when I did a search. I found that it was an anti-inflamitory, and was used for poison oak and ivy. I will ask about it.

Thanks. Tarri

Rhus toxicodendron actually is Poison-ivy. The key note of this remedy is reumatoid pain which gets worse at night and better with movement.
But Tarri never take homeopatic remedies without specific professional advice. Contrary to popular beleif even homeopatic remedies if not taken properly can cause damage by supression.

In chronic cases like yours one has to take into account mismatic effects and prescribe constitutionally. This means thorugh consultation with experienced classical homeopath.

Let me explain a bit more about miasms...

According to Samuel Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy, they are an "infectious principal" which expresses itself in the specific diseases we see in people and animals. Another definition, according to Dr. Levy, is "chronic disease hat is inheritable." Miasms can also be created through the use of suppressive medicine or other environmental factors.
In homeopathy, the theory of miasms originates in Hahnemann's book 'The Chronic Disease' which was published in 1828. The three miasms given are held to be responsible for all disease of a chronic nature and to form the foundation or basis for all disease in general.

In Hahnemann's words ,"the true natural chronic diseases are those that arise from a chronic miasm, when left to themselves, improper treatment, go on to increase, growing worse and torment the patient to the end of his life." - 78 Organon

Hahnemann spent 12 years of his life investigating miasms, collecting proof these findings going unnoticed by others in the medical professions, "the chronic diseases" was written.
The conditions that would modify a miasm in a persons body would be things like, climate and peculiar and physical character of the person it is in, mental delays, excesses, or abuses in life, in diet passions, habits and various customs.

The medical profession (allopathic doctors) have put names on various diseases such as, jaundice, dropsy, leucorrhoea, hemorrhoids, eczema, asthma, lysteria, rheumatism, herpes, mania to name a few. Hahnemann considers all these based from the same beginnings. The medical profession treats each one on an individual basis with each a medical treatment. All these names have no use and no influence on the practice of the true physician.

In homeopathy Only the totality of the signs of the individual state of each particular patient is used to cure the disease. So no real cure of miasms can take place without a strict particular treatment (individualization) of each case of disease.

The 4 miasms are: psora, sychosis, syphillis, and tuburcular. actually Psora, the mother of all diseases goes back the farthest in human history and is the first and basic miasm, other 3 developed from it. Psora or "itch" is the monstrous internal chronic miasm, the only real fundamental cause and producer of all the other numerous forms of disease.

This was just a teaser. Homeopathy is complex science and art in the same time.
If you are interested there are many great books available, but one should start with Organon of Homeopathic Medicine by Hahnemann... hope this helps Tarri

Actually you opened my eyes. I had no idea it was that complex. Thanks so very much. I will definately find the book.

My greatest challenges are going to be finding a Dr. for this type of treatment and paying for it. Though I have found if I can be patient, things mostly come about. It will give me time to read the book anyway.

Thank you again for the info.

One more thing Tarri homeopaths are not necesarily doctors, I do think best homeopaths are allopats turn homeopaths, i.e people who have sound knowledge of mrophological and phisiological medical sciences but thats my personal opinion, even Hahneman was a physician himself who turned to homeopathy after years of frustration with not being able to releive his suffering patients. Of course this si not the rule, there are some of the best homeopaths who dont have classical medical education. Always make sure that they have degree or certificate in Calssical Homeopathy. The best courses in North America are provided by Canadian Andre' Sein.
There are alot of charlatans in homeopathy and they give a bad name to it.

I dont know whats the situation in your part of the US, apart from qualifications general criteria when selecting who to go to should be - years of experience and also the approach. If the first consultation lasts less then couple of hours then this is the clue this person is prorabbly not very thorough, and you cannot have good results in homeopathy if you are not as thourough as possible. On average proper 1st consultation with human patients lasts between 3-4 hours.
Regarding paying - I think in USA it is much more lucrative to be homeopath then here in Europe as someone told me that they charge hundreds of dolars per consultation. Where I live the charge is on average 60 Euro for the first consultation which also includes the remedy.
This covers the face to face consultation which can last up to 4 hours, and also consequent researh for the remedy which if not done properly cannot be finnished for less then at least 1-2 hours. it also includes telephone querries.
Then every consequent visit is charged about 15 Euros, but if homeopath is good usually there is no need for additional visits.

I was listening to SOTT Radio(13 Jan 2018) and they were discussing about medicines. My grandfather was a homeopath and I grew up learning homeopathy and taking homeopathy remedies. I actually studied homeopathy course as well but could not finish it due to financial reasons but I do know that one day I will. I saw people coming to my grandfather crying with suffering. He used to help them and never charged for his services because he had very different view of looking at things. He always used to say that the happiness lies in seeing your patients happy and healthy. Homeopathy is really close to me and I don’t even take any other medications. There has been really very chronic cases where homeopathy has shown what wonders it can do.

Most of the current generation that I talk to haven’t even heard about homeopathy. Sometimes there are people who take it, get healed by it and then they simply refer to it as black magic and shift back to allopathy medicines. Really, can people be really that ignorant.

Well that’s why there is a saying the choices that you make every minute will decide your future.
