Sott Talk Radio on itunes?

When I click on the itunes link from the blogtalk radio site, it opens my itunes player but then I get this message:

Item Not Available
The item you've requested is not currently available in the U.S. store.

Just wondering if this is a glitch? I thought I remembered seeing Sott Talk on itunes a while back, but I could be wrong. In doing a search the older Signs of the Times podcasts come up but nothing about Sott Talk.

itunes could be another means of reaching more people. I know Underground Wellness reached a lot of popularity on itunes through blogtalk radio.

I've been successful in subscribing to the SOTT Talk Radio podcast on iTunes. Have you tried searching for it in the iTunes 'Podcasts' section and subscribing?

For some episodes it takes a few days (after airing) before they appear in the list. Before that the message is as you described in your quote.

Just in case, here's the direct link for subscribing: _http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sottnet.rss

Yep. Nothing shows up. Same on my computer and phone. The message indicates that it is not available in the US store. You're not in the US, correct? If not, are there others in the US who are able to subscribe to SOTT on itunes?

I don't have iTunes but i have "tunein" radio. Guess what? Signs of the times is on there. No, not the critically- thinking highly informative crew, but some Christian "end times" radio show! I'm thinking what a shame that a well known app (around the world supposedly) would have that sott & what of all the other internet traffic being directed toward them? <sigh>

I forgot how I made my ITunes download the Sott podcasts. I think there was a subscribe button. It looks like it works like an RSS feed and it just checks for updates every week and downloads the audio files. I can't find it in the ITunes store.

Try this link: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sottnet.rss
It points to the RSS feed. Looks like Firefox will let you choose the application it subscribes with. Try searching for ITunes in your C:\Program files folder.

Thought I mention a few things about possibly reaching a wider audience. I know that RT has just started putting podcasts on SoundCloud, and from friends that they use SoundCloud and TuneIn to listen to podcasts when mobile.
SoundCloud can be linked to ITunes too, which seems to be the preferred mobile platform for apple users.

Perhaps it's something that could be added?

Happy to help if need be.

This is something I was wondering about too. I had SOTTtalk radio subscribed on my itunes, and the native "podcast" app on the iphone would pull in the new episodes each Sunday after they were up, but the last time I synced the phone the SOTT podcast wasn't available anymore. Qualification: I CAN see the old sott episodes from before the move to blogtalkradio, but I can't see any of the new ones...

My initial thought was that you guys just removed it from itunes for whatever reason... It's not a big deal, I can still listen on BTR, but just wanted to add my own observation that it seems to be gone from itunes...

I noticed the same thing - I used to upload the radio shows to my iPod to listen to in the car but I have not been able to update since October. I tried going to the iTunes link at blog talk, but could not get it to work.

I saw that too. The last one in ITunes for me is the second William Patrick Patterson interview. I've been downloading them from here and putting them into the same folder that the old SOTT podcasts were going to.

Since the name of the show changed, the new RSS feed is here:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sottradionetwork.rss

Or here:

BTR handles the iTunes feed automatically I think, but that also probably changed.

The "podcast" has to be submitted to iTunes manually actually once, after that it's automagical. I just submitted it, although apparently it will be reviewed by the shiny white people at Apple. Wonder what they'll make of it.

Just did a search, found it and subscribed! Wahoo!

Hopefully this will help provide access to more people. It's a popular platform for podcasts so any who subscribe and download through it can help boost Sott's rankings.
