Spam Specimen: REMEMBER A GUY NAMED VINCE DIEHL?

A Disturbance in the Force
Does anyone remember a guy named Vince Diehl, who published an article called "THE GREAT ABYSS", which has to do with the bomb that America's energy companies have accidentally created beneath the North American Continent by using their "Water Replacement Process? To some, he is better known as Vince Diehl, ..."The Prophet."
...Anyone remember him now ?
Well, apparently Diehl's prophecies were such a concern to the government, that the government hired two computer companies; one from the Gulf Coast area (whom Diehl caught); the other claiming to be from the Eastern Pennsylvania area; both of which specialize in hacking into people's websites then destroying them, which is what they did to Diehl's.
Well, to provide better security, and to as well give his readers an opportunity to respond to his writings with "on site" comments and questions: Some friends and supporters have purchased Diehl a really neat, pretty much secure forum.

Re: REMEMBER A GUY NAMED VINCE DIEHL?

I clicked on the link, but I got a notice at top of page saying this site was malicious...and that I should exit unless I knew it was safe. I closed the tab. I do not know that the site is safe and so I didn't think it was a good idea to continue there.

Your post seems kind of spammy to me.

That's because it's spam! :) the link has been fully removed.

Re: REMEMBER A GUY NAMED VINCE DIEHL?

The above post should probably be removed (since it's only purpose is to draw people to another forum), but until it is, I figured I might point out some problems with what was written in it.

1) The U.S. government does not hire computer companies to hack into computers. Various governmental agencies have their own "hackers" along with access that non-governmental hackers could only dream of.

2) There are no "companies" (which implies non-governmental) that specialize in hacking into other people's computers.

3) That one of these alleged companies was identified as coming from the "Gulf Coast area" is a pretty blatant tug on the emotional connection people currently have with that area given the BP disaster.

4) If Diehl really thinks that this forum he has is "pretty much secure" from intrusion by interested governmental agencies, he is not only not a prophet, he is a damn fool! Such a thing does not exist.

Kind of sad that this is the kind of nonsense they think people on this forum would fall for. I guess it goes to show the quality of their thinking.

Re: REMEMBER A GUY NAMED VINCE DIEHL?

So maybe we'll leave it as an example, though banning/deleting the spammer.

Yes, good example of social engineering to create subtle emotional responses and empathy, potentially bypassing the critical functions.

Yeah, and maybe her avatar also has something to do with bypassing critical functions. This is lame, like an advertisement trick to allure people to shopping.
