Gimpy
The Living Force
Hubby took me to see this one last night. It's a kind of 'rock em sock em robot' meets 'Rocky', but not really. ;D
The hard part for me was the sound. (Its not offered in 3D, which is good) They ramp up the sound and subsonic during the fights with the robots and I'm still recovering from that.
(Spent most of today in bed with my head under blankets, and taking Advil. Which I rarely ever do anymore.)
The effects in this movie are so good, they fit into the landscape and are natural. The only things that stand out are the robots, and that's a nice change from movies that tend to go overboard on the special effects.
Warning spoilers below...................
What makes this movie better than average, is the focus on the relationship between the boy and his father...the robots do not take the place of real relationships.
Most robot movies try to make the machines human or as substitutes for humans....this movie didn't do that. It pointed out that its people that make the difference.
I thought that was a good thing.
