Sphere-like phenomenon in the sun's corona

The Living Force
I just saw this video on youtube which was recorded yesterday. It shows something that looks like a sphere which is connected to the sun via a dark streak, which is later 'ejected' from it's position.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ7RaOMHb5I&feature=youtu.be

He said that he was told that's the earth, but this is clearly nonsense. I was curious and went to the SDO website directly. They provide videos of the last 48 hours in various wavelengths. And indeed, there was this phenomenon again, which is best visible for the sensors 171, 193 and 211:

http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_0171.mpg

http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_0193.mpg

http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/assets/img/latest/latest_1024_0211.mpg

I don't really have an explanation for this but it seems to be something genuine. I haven't seen such a thing in the sun's images ever before.

If you want to see this phenomenon, then you should download these videos soon, because I guess they map only the last 48 hours. I've downloaded the videos to make sure.

Any ideas about what this can be?

Looks really extraordinary to me, have never seen such before. Begin of last year there were videos with small objects.
This is huge probably size of Jupiter or bigger. It could be some sort of new thing, connected to the changes in our solar system.
It could be also some sort of natural phenomenon, which we haven't seen before.

Wow, that's strange! No idea what that can be. Either the thing is tapping the sun to get energy(or the sun "giving birth to something), or the sun is sucking it's energy - mind boggling...

Just looks like a dramatic Birkeland current. Ya'll need to read "The Electric Sky" by Scott and "The Electric Universe" by Thornhill. Two good, basic books on the topic.

Reminds me of a twister........a really large one. What's also interesting is the apparent discharge of energy from the place it "took off" just after.

the thing that looks like a twister is kind of interesting (maybe it is one of those Tornados on the Sun who were "discovered" recently?).
I don't know if it is just a coincidence that the end leads to this "object" ?

I guess it is likely not an object but something like a artifact of the picture or something energetic .

If you have a plasma ball, you see the exact same thing. Same thing as an earthly tornado which is an electrical phenomenon.

Thing is, there usually is some sort of contact potential difference that induces the Birkeland current to move in a certain direction ... maybe something out there which is getting arced or just a normal reaction to the approach of a companion to the sun?

Yeah Laura, i think you're right, if you pay attention to the video especially at parts 0:07 - 0:11, you see that the so called sphere changes shape, it's circumference widens into an almost Y shape, the stem of the Y, being the connecting vortex of material, the sphere is just the brain filling in the details, osit.

just found this :
_http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev8JGqDO8nk&feature=watch_response
(well now it has to be an object that went off  :headbash:)

I think it is not a hoax because when you look here: http://sohodata.nascom.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/soho_movie_theater you can find the same thing.
it surely looks like a plasma discharge of some kind ?!

try to type in the date 2012-03-08 to 2012-03-12 and you will see the whole process of how it came into being and how it bursts at the end.
quite fascinating

Data, your first video didn't show the ejection, Pashalis video did though, but when i went to soho, this:
SOHOimg1.jpg

is what i saw, doesn't look much like what was portrayed in those videos, but then again, i don't have the software to magnify up to the levels those videos had.

For those who haven't, read the two books Laura has mentioned.

I got a gentle "slap on the wrist" for adding Wikipeadia's
mainstream science description of neutron and related
"stars" in the March 2012 session thread and she is right,
these books will "open you up".

So I bought the two books the next day, finished today,
"The Electric Universe" and it deepened my understanding.
I am looking forward to reading the "The Electric Sky".

Thank you again, Laura!

Huge Unidentified Sphere in Sun´s Corona

Havent you seen the huge sphere connected to the sun by some kind of plasma filament?. I know this is not a "who wanna ask to the C´s" forum but it would be great to know something about this phenomena (see link) and what this C´s comments are about it:

https://www.sott.net/articles/show/242957-Huge-Sphere-in-Sun-s-Corona-Or-Electrical-Phenomena-

heres the link of some page with a good youtube videos of it:

By the way this was on 11th march 2012.

Re: Huge Unidentified Sphere in Sun´s Corona

Hi DreamGod,

The topic is being discussed here. Topics merged.

I read an article that said it was a very typical "solar prominence". I'll try to find it, but meanwhile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_prominence

When a prominence is viewed from a different perspective so that it is against the sun instead of against space, it appears darker than the surrounding background. This formation is instead called a solar filament.[1] It is possible for a projection to be both a filament and a prominence. Some prominences are so powerful that they throw out matter from the Sun into space at speeds ranging from 600 km/s to more than 1000 km/s. Other prominences form huge loops or arching columns of glowing gases over sunspots that can reach heights of hundreds of thousands of kilometres. Prominences may last for a few days or even for a few months.[2] Flocculi (plural of flocculus) is another term for these filaments, and dark flocculi typically describes the appearance of solar prominences when viewed against the solar disk in certain wavelengths.

Looks like a "solar filament".

Edit: Here's the article _http://www.tgdaily.com/space-features/62072-solar-prominence-or-ufo
