The Force is Strong With This One
Thank you SoTT for everything that you have done.

I just wanted to let you guys know that we are out there and that SoTT's rss feeds are being loaded here:
http://www.sprword.com/mustread.html

As you can see, the SoTT rss feeds are the only ones that do not work properly. I have no idea why this is happening, but I inquired about this a few months ago in the forum and did not receive a response as to why it is like this. If for some reason you do not want to be associated with sprword, please let us know and we will remove you from the list of non-mainstream news sources.

Also, please check out the most visited section here:

Thanks again for everything. Your hard work is truly inspirational.

I seem to remember replying to you about this, but I don't remember if it was via e-mail or here. In any case, our feed validates as Atom 1.0, which means it should work. See here.

I noticed that sprword.com uses a script to display the feeds:

http://slashdemocracy.org/xml/feed2js/feed2js.php?src=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sott.net%2Fxml_dump%2Fsigns_feed

Without knowing what that script is doing, I can't really tell you what the problem is. Maybe it doesn't like ATOM feeds?

:/

Thanks for the response Scott. You did respond to my post in the forum several months ago, but it did not help me to fix the problem.

I see that the SoTT feed does indeed validate as Atom 1.0, but it does not validate anywhere else.

Do you have a script I can use so that I can load Atom 1.0 feeds? I am having a bit of trouble trying to find one.

Well, I just checked a couple other feed validators, and they both said it was valid. However, there were a few other "minor" problems that didn't prevent validation, but should have been fixed. So, they're fixed now. Unfortunately, it still doesn't work on Sprword.com.

I've never used one before, and I don't know of any offhand. But, if you'd like, you can e-mail me the file:

/xml/feed2js/feed2js.php

I can take a peek at it and see if I can figure out the problem. It's properly loading the feed with the updated items for SOTT, but the links to those items are blank (i.e. href=""). So, that probably means that whatever parsing is being done in feed2js.php for the hyperlinks themselves doesn't like SOTT URLs. That's my current guess, anyway.

Anywho, I'll send you an e-mail to respond to instead of posting my e-mail addy for all the spambots to find. :)
