stained fingers due to smoking

Hello,

does somebody know why some people get stained -yellow- fingers from smoking and some others are not? I only find it a bit strange looking, but cannot help it and have no clue what to do against it.

Has somebody any tips and tricks, or is it just a type to type thing and nothing can be done?

Thanks.

I think it's do to the burning of the tobacco. You could always use a cigarette holder such as: http://www.1percent.com/silver-fumed-euro-style-glass-cigarette-holder.html or use a tobacco pipe.

Mine don't stain, but I do a lot of cleaning with baking soda, which may be the reason why....don't know. Anyway, it's cheap, and safe to scrub your fingers with. Also makes a nice facial scrub once a week too ;D

You don't get the stains at all if you keep your hands moisturized all the time. I use argan oil, but any oil/fatty cream will do.

Oki, thanks for the responses.

At work I don't like to smoke a pipe and prefer cigarettes, cause it looks more "normal". But using a pipe was my first idea some months ago and so I bought one for that reason.

Try lemon. It cleans well and smells good too.

Thanks, I will test these tips and see how it goes.

Old post I know but just wanted to share a product I found useful for avoiding yellow stains: I smoke rollups and at the local pound store found extra-long slim filter tips. You use slightly less tobacco and after a few days the yellowness disappeared :cool2:
