Stephen Hawking warns over making contact with aliens

I'm kind of surprised Stephen Hawking has stepped up toward disclosing the taboo. I think he provides some choice soundbites
He explained: "We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn't want to meet."
... and then ...
Mr Hawking said: "To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational.

"The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like."
... but ultimately I think the article pulls up short concluding with clunky earth tech paradigms.

Searching elsewhere for the same I found this India Daily Technology Team musing about the same Hawking disclosure taking the implications the logical step closer to Laura's discoveries.

Carina Nebula galaxy shows sign of alien life?

Hubble Space Telescope has turned 20 and NASA has released a new photo from the orbiting observatory of a cosmic pillar of gas and dust piled high in the Carina Nebula galaxy. Some have found strange signal intelligence confirming alien life.

Have you wondered what that means. According to leading physicists, Stephen Hawking, we should not venture in finding them. He believes that contact with them could be devastating for humanity, and suggests that aliens might raid Earth for its resources.

Obviously, the aliens found us long before we could even imagine that we are a type zero civilization.

When the pics of cosmic pillar of gas and dust piled high in the Carina Nebula galaxy is taken to multidimensional fractal image recognition algorithms, it all on a sudden shows images of dark energy civilizations.

Alien civilizations are all around us but they are in different forms than we can imagine. The dimension and consciousness differences are so wide that terrestrial type zero scientists can never imagine the life forms.

For example, we have just started finding out that all our diseases emanate from genomics of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms. The medial doctor communities are perplexed because that puts them out of business and proves that all they were doing all these years were wrong because of lack of knowledge. Roman doctors believed that human hearts had septal pores. They came to that conclusion because human premature babies (fetus) have septal pores that closes when the baby is born. Now you go and tell those Roman doctors in their heaven about the truth that human hearts do not have septal pores. Would they have believed?

Wow, I found it a bit disturbing sifting through the comments there amidst those trying to work through their spiritual crisis' Hawking's comments raise and those somehow seemingly welcoming alien implants. But I see that comment page was launched by the writer of that Natural News article SOTT sourced, Why Intelligent Life in the Universe is Likely to be Hostile.

Those musings on Hawking's line of thinking seem to run short of the multidimensional alien reality that Windmill Knight and Parallax point out in the other thread on this.

Windmill knight said:
Now if he could just accept that they are already here and come from a higher dimension...

But another aspect of the Hawking line of thinking that runs short for me and the Natural News author runs with is the imposition "natural selection" as the natural order of the universe.
Natural selection on the scale of the entire universe, in other words, favors those who destroy others. Because of this unfortunate reality, we should only really expect to meet intelligent extraterrestrials who are looking to destroy us. This isn't a radical idea... it's actually the most logical conclusion.
"Logical conclusion" according to reasoning conditioned by many earth generations of humans falling victim to psychopaths. And the psychopathic world order seems just what we're supposed to accept according to the Hawking theory of what alien contact with humans entails.
Just as the U.S. invades other countries to acquire supplies of oil, extraterrestrial aliens may decide to invade planet Earth to take our water, metals or even our DNA. This is not an outlandish thought: It's actually the most likely context of any meeting with aliens.
Personally this reasoning seems shortsighted to me in the earth-bound perspective it projects. It presumes all space exploration springs from terrestrial survival needs. That the fundamental necessity for space travel is battling for resources in the process of "natural selection". I don't doubt the realities the C's have spelled out about predatory aliens but I think we also have the C's demonstrating intelligent life forms moving through the galaxies in alternative modes that we have the potential to awaken to. But whatever the reality there, like Laura says in that interview with Kerry Cassidy, "who needs aliens when you've got psychopaths?"
