Strange phenomenon in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Saw today the following pictures taken by a woman from Bosnia and Herzegovina on 6th of January, 2014. It's probably a natural phenomenon, but still, rather curious and perplexing. Any ideas exactly how it may work? Maybe those are sun rays, reflected in an angle or something?

It could be sunlight from the sunset. The sky is cloudy but if there are less clouds towards the horizon where the sun sets, it could give this effect.

It makes sense. Thanks, mkrnhr!

I second that, I saw something similar here. Although it is beautiful to see.

That's pretty. My impression is that the sun is setting perhaps on the back or to the right of the observer, there are holes in the clouds on the sun's way and it just happens to be very orangey that day, giving that contrasting impression on the ground. Otherwise I've no idea, but I like it.

That's my impression as well. It could be observed at a right time to see this. It's quite stunning, I thought.

It's really beautiful, but personally I have no explanation, because it is rather extreme lighted imo, that it almost looks unnatural.

Also my train of thought in this case...

Could also be a hoax I guess... Or some kind of special camera setting?

Although completely unrelated, these pictures reminded me of a strange story I read a couple of months ago about a village in Norway that placed mirrors on mountain tops in order to get reflected sunlight into the village square during winter darkness (short video included):
