Strange Thunderstorm Over NorthCentral Pa

Last night was the strangest thunderstorm I've ever witnessed. It began at about 2am with bright, frequent lightning, heavy rain, but no thunder. Then, 30 mins later, the rain quit and the thunder began. I've never felt such deep rumblings. It shook the entire house, and each boom lasted nearly 60 seconds! By 3am the rain began anew, and I went out on the porch to witness the storm and smoke. I never saw a bolt of lightning; it was as if something was flashing behind the clouds periodically, lighting the entire sky. Wierd. Tho I believe in them, I personally have never seen a UFO. Or a storm like this! Anyone else in Pa catch it?

I'm near philly, and last night was pretty uneventful. Though I did notice that this morning on my way to work it was definitely warm outside. Checking weather.com and it says it's 61F or 16C, a little too warm for feburary. Gave me the willies as I walked to my car. It's now cloudy lookin like it might rain, so i guess we got the remnants of whatever storm passed over y'all.

Yeah! It was VERY warm last night. And foggy. I love sitting outside (under shelter preferably) to watch a thunder and lightning storm. In fact, I'll get up in the middle of the night, missing sleep, to watch one. For much of my life I've lived out in the boonies, where you can REALLY experience the storms. And in my 35 short years I've never seen nor felt one like last night.

Wow, sorry I missed that one.. but yeah it's very unusually warm in Philly today (rooftop weather!!) so the warm air meeting some cold air from off the lakes might have contributed to whatever it is you saw.
