Subliminal sexual images in media: Beyond greed to perversion?

The Force is Strong With This One
This topic really fascinates me. Especially the air bushing they used during the. 70's and 80's when ai was growing up. Now with Photoshop it is more subtle, sometimes.

Most modern media has moved way beyond subtlety and euphemism. Actually listen to the words to some "popular" songs and it is astonishing just how explicitly sexual it has all become. I go out ballroom dancing and it always amazes me how people in the dance hall have absolutely no clue what the words are.

Then we have "50 shades of grey"... Female porn. (Male pornography is largely visual - i.e. pictures of naked women objectifying them. Female porn is "erotic prose" or largely internal and using the imagination - not exactly objectification, but just as artificial. Yes, I know, I am stereotyping.)

I could go on and on with examples, but one of the more mild recent music videos is "Candyman" by Christine Agulera. One that leaves literally nothing to the imagination is "Anaconda" by Nikki Minaj (although the parody video is hysterical). The 2 chainz rap in the break in Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty To Me" certainly talks dirty to the listener. The so-called "clean" version of this song edits out the words, but if you listen, you know exactly what was removed, so the editing serves no real purpose because the communication is intact.

Go rent or watch some of the old Loony Tunes cartoons. As an adult, I see and hear things that completely escaped me as a child - or did it... ?

Friends have brought me modern fashion magazines and I didn't need to look for subliminals because it was beyond blatant sexuality, not that sexuality, dealt with honestly is bad. It isn't. It is natural, subliminal manipulation is not.
I like your comment about men being visual creatures and women more multi-sensory. My sister just said something about "reading porn" and I said that was a very feminine thing to say!
How about Lady GaGa and getting away with saying "F her face" behind the repeated "Poker Face."
Also Verizon has a radio ad out now that warns us against "half-fast" network speed.. When you say "half-fast" quickly it becomes a joke so clever only an 11 year old boy would get it. Yet this is a multi million dollar ad budget, right? It seems we are being systematically dumbed down.

You might enjoy this documentary. Half hour long. It's called Killing us softly.

Personally, I have to say, I can see a progression in this conditioning. I think the main goal of this is in not primarily dumbing us down. There are other tools for that. I think it's in changing how we relate to each other. Society and interactions are based on sex and sexual hierarchy's in my opinion nowadays. People make friendships based on this sort of thing, people view others based on this programming and relate accordingly based on this. Basically, to me, it's the killing of the emotional centre and compassion. It's the slow but true death of what makes us human. Ultimately, it's the devaluing of life. We can't truly connect. It's the killing of truth even. When the scope of vision is so diminished, as if we are horses with blinkers on, you can't see the whole picture.. It's the killing of objectivity. It's devious and it's like the frog in the boiling water that is incrementally getting hotter... The end result, I don't know, but I know it won't be pretty at all.

That is pretty much how I see it as well. It is indeed kind of scary, how all that has escalated to an almost constantly present self-gratification of our society as a whole. Especially the youth nowadays has become very addicted to that kind of stuff. No good sign at all IMO.

Almost like an attempt to get us to hyper focus only on the root chakra, so the energy gets stuck there and we become numb to higher expressions. Numb = more easily controllable?

Thanks for the recommendation luke wilson. I also agree with what has been said.

Speaking from personal experience, I succumbed to these sorts of manipulations and was deeply affected by this forced sexualisation from a very early age being exposed to pornography and the mysogynistic mindset by an older sibling. It colours our perceptions of every other member of the opposite sex and leads us to a shallow, carnal, psychopathic way of viewing other human beings. The reasoning behind the implementation of this is probably multi faceted.

At one level - you have psychopaths at the heads of media etc who attempt to sexualise children in order to transform society into a more habitable place for themselves and their own interests. If children are introduced to sex at an early age (which they now are) children having sex will eventually become the social norm and be generally accepted among the people. Unfortunately, I think this is probably a world which the psychopath would like to live in and are pushing for this to become part of society. It work through multi generations, each one gradually becoming desensitised until it is accepted. I think they project and actually believe that if they push it enough then they can create a reality like this.

At another higher level, I think it is an attack on our emotional centre and soul growth. The possible spiritual connection between two beings is reduced to mere physicality. The attack not only breaks the bond between opposite sexes, it also reduces the emotional capacity and ability to connect with anyone. It is a massive drain on our energy keeping us locked in this base level of consciousness with little means of even conceptualising a higher purpose . It is a perfect feeding frenzy for 4DSTS and means of control. Certainly a sign of the times!

The complete representation of sex through the media disgusts me, I've watched 3 films within the pass week and EVERY single one had sex in it. It really gets to me that people deem love as sex? Like people aren't already completely reliant on the physical world, and one of the deepest connections we can have with another person is represented and using them for complete STS reasons.

It makes total sense though, the whole idea of us being predators and having the predators mind, no wonder the forces that be are planting all these distorted sexual ideologies through the media. What a better way to feed the predator and stay in our prisons than to pleasure our sex centers, the complete use and draining energy of someone else to make YOURSELF feel good.

It's just a whole new level in regards to influencing really young children, It's been happening for a longgg time though hasn't it. I seen one of the most vile porn scenes I'd ever seen when I was around 8 years old, most of my male friends started watching porn and masturbating to it even at that age. I even remember at a really young age being able to find the likes of humans having sex with animals, and it gets even worse.

I can't even imagine, with the forces seeming to be gaining more power at the moment, the ever-growing access to the internet and technology, and the fact that 4 year olds are being placed with Iphones and Ipads and all these technological devices... what will happen to the next generation of children? how sexually distorted are the teenagers and children nowadays?

I find this AD to be especially disturbing. Not only is the salesman in a suggestive position with that child, but look at his middle finger. Why is is so prominent and twisted?

I just read this article on Sott which is also directly relevant: http://www.sott.net/article/292680-Fifty-shades-of-filth-The-glorification-and-acceptance-of-pornography-reveals-societys-moral-bankruptcy

Just some reflections on all this for what its worth..

Having real connections with a partner one loves goes a long way into helping develop, grow and heal on a personal level and that I can see would naturally extend onto society. It leads to stronger family bonds, better parenting and healthier social fabrics. The issue with porn is how it directly contributes to ripping all those things apart.

But our modern or western social values are so warped that it is seen as anti progress and anti free speech to have any political policy about banning porn. Its clearly damaging and has no other real value than being damaging but its only getting more accessible and more widely distributed across the globe.

Yet in a complete about-face, it seems OK to censor truth in all forms of media, for "national security" or to "keep us safe". To censor porn however is thrown into the bucket of protecting free speech, which is valued on its function to pave way for truth. Clearly that's inconsistent and makes no sense.

In a nutshell were saying (as a society) that all forms of sexual perversion, no matter how violent and soul destroying they are shown to be, needs to be freely accessible and available at all times and all places but the pursuit of truth in the media, science and politics etc. needs to be filtered and censored to "protect us" from danger?

Its all back to front!
