Suggestion

I have a suggestion. Can't we have a category on the forum for propaganda? I think Laura also mentioned recently that we naturally have to read obvious propaganda as well, to know what 'they' want us to think.

Sometimes I wanna post a news article, which is propaganda, because it's propaganda, but then I think you might think I'm actually suggesting it as an article for SOTT.

Basically to open an avenue of discussion about the propaganda in the piece (or fear mongering), it's implications as to where 'they're' heading and what they're accomplishing with such propaganda and so forth. Naturally a person posting such an article must of course maybe point out the propaganda and open the discussion, instead of posting just the article.

Just a suggestion.

I think that's kind of a neat idea. The SotT editors must have to evaluate stuff like this constantly and must be pros at it by now, but it might be a nice opportunity for others on the forum to evaluate case studies in propaganda on an ongoing basis. It would also be a place where something could be moved besides 'Baked Noodles' if someone suggests a piece of news in good faith that the mods think is actually propaganda and should be viewed with caution. Maybe this could be a sub-board of the 'COINTELPRO and Disinformation' section or something like that?

I think that's a wonderful idea. I still remember some time ago, Laura suggesting that we learn to deconstruct propaganda and I've been trying to educate myself in that area.

I think it would be good to have some kind of 'deconstructing propaganda' place devoted to that purpose so that even lurkers, or people who aren't members here can also benefit from learning about this stuff.

Might want to put it in disinfo or orwellian world which is where that sort of thing has been going up to now.

Would this be any info. that one comes across and what they would think or suspect to be disinformation. Throw anything out there and sort it out as one goes through to investigate disinformation. Neat idea E :cool2:
