I recalled what G. said in Search of the Miraculous, I don't know if it's related to the supermoon
event, but it would probably be good to keep in mind, granted the moon is not a planet but still.

On June 24th, the Moon will be in a nearly full moon phase as it reaches perigee, making it appear slightly larger in the night sky. On that day, the Moon will be the closest to Earth that it will be for all of 2013. Such approaches, when perigee coincides closely with a full moon, are known as supermoons. But the apparent size difference is very difficult to see; only careful measurements reveal the difference.
I recalled what G. said in Search of the Miraculous, I don't know if it's related to the supermoon
event, but it would probably be good to keep in mind, granted the moon is not a planet but still.
What is war? It is the result of planetary
influences. Somewhere up there two or three planets have approached too near to each
other; tension results. Have you noticed how, if a man passes quite close to you on a
narrow pavement, you become all tense? The same tension takes place between
planets. For them it lasts, perhaps, a second or two. But here, on the earth, people
begin to slaughter one another, and they go on slaughtering maybe for several years. It
seems to them at the time that they hate one another; or perhaps that they have to
slaughter each other for some exalted purpose; or that they must defend somebody or
something and that it is a very noble thing to do; or something else of the same kind.
They fail to realize to what an extent they are mere pawns in the game. They think
they signify something;
they think they can move about as they like; they think they can decide to do this or
that. But in reality all their movements, all their actions, are the result of planetary
influences. And they themselves signify literally nothing. Then the moon plays a big
part in this. But we will speak about the moon separately. Only it must be understood
that neither Emperor Wilhelm, nor generals, nor ministers, nor parliaments, signify
anything or can do anything. Everything that happens on a big scale is governed from
out side, and governed either by accidental combinations of influences or by general
cosmic laws."

Certain prognosticators have moved the goalposts to within 1 or 2 weeks of a supermoon to suggest a causal relationship with specific natural disasters such as the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami and the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami. However in both cases the Moon was actually farther from the Earth than average. No evidence has been found of any correlation with major earthquakes.
The combined effect of the Sun and Moon on the Earth's oceans, the tide, is greatest when the Moon is either new or full. At lunar perigee the tidal force is somewhat stronger, resulting in perigean spring tides. But even at its most powerful this force is still relatively weak causing tidal differences of inches at most.
As the tidal force follows an inverse-cube law, that force is 18% greater than average. However, because the actual amplitude of tides varies around the world, this may not translate into a direct effect.
It has been claimed that the supermoon of March 19, 2011 was responsible for the grounding of five ships in the Solent in the UK, but such claims are not supported by scientific evidence.
