The Living Force

I did not find any reference for S. James Gates in the search. This article is interesting in several ways. I admit that much of it is over my head.
But he seems to be suggesting that there is evidence that we do live in a matrix. That at the basic level of reality are codes literally 1, 0, Yes No.
"The idea of "it from bit" is a complex one, and Wheeler's own description of it is probably still the best. In 1990 he suggested that "every 'it' — every particle, every field of force, even the space-time continuum itself — derives its function, its meaning, its very existence entirely…from the apparatus-elicited answers to yes-or-no questions, binary choices, bits". The "it from bit" principle, he continued, "symbolizes the idea that every item of the physical world has at bottom…an immaterial source and explanation: that which we call reality arises in the last analysis from the posing of yes-no questions and the registering of equipment-evoked responses; in short, that all things physical are information-theoretic in origin and that this is a participatory universe"."
A "participatory universe". Perhaps the Universe responding to us as we respond to it? Maybe this is giving a "yes" to consciousness and a "no" to the General Law in every moment that we are able. And the results we experience in our lives come directly what we say yes or no to in each moment.
Of course, this is what we are working on. This looks like a scientific authentication of what we are studying, to me at least.
I caught part of an interview with him on NPR yesterday which led me to the article. The interview can also be heard on the On Being website. Gates seems very articulate and able explain his thinking in simple terms.
If Ark has a moment it would be interesting to hear his view on this article.
