noJoke, will you please state something other than surprise/bafflement/intense reaction? Why are you posting here if you are not going to communicate?

fwiw (and maybe very little in this case) I did manage to read noJokes post....but as there is no 'edited' at the bottom he must have changed it within a minute of posting it. I'd also read his other one in the recent session thread.

This one (if I remember the crux of it) suggested that sott had not taken an interest so far in the subject he then brought up, which was visual/auditory disturbances, attacks (which I had assumed he meant to himself, although he didn't completely state that directly) and website/browsing manipulation (almost instantly as he put it)....the grammar was a little off/missing some words....the post also ended 'Interested?'...which I found slightly leading/manipulative.

As it was his second post I was going to suggest that these had been discussed and that he read the Wave series (when I got round to replying later) as everything he brought up (more or less) is in there.

Odd...I saw another user posting a few days ago just posting !!! or ???

Perhaps its troll season?

It's not exactly a troll though the effect amounts to the same. It's an individual who apparently has schizophrenia and is suffering terribly and has written to us repeatedly with accusations that we are spamming him. It seems that every spam email he gets, he attributes to us. In the beginning, we tried responding reasonably. Ark sent him a list of the spam emails he receives to show him that we get the same stuff. Ark also explained to him how to read the headers to determine that it was certainly not us sending him all this stuff. But all this was AFTER he wrote to us telling us about voices in his head, perceived attacks, and so on. We have repeatedly recommended that he seek professional counseling but to no avail. He needs to get help but unless and until someone in his environment becomes aware of what is going on in his head, nobody can make him go to a doctor - which is what he desperately needs.

People who are mentally unstable don't need to be reading the Wave or anything else like that. Only the mentally strong can deal with reality as we have discussed in the thread on the recent session. Even the healthiest of people (in fact, probably only healthy people), get depressed facing and bearing the full psychic brunt of what IS. So obviously, individuals with chemical imbalances and/or inherited or induced mental issues can't go there. It is sad, but there is nothing we can do for them. They need a doctor and medication. We are not equipped to deal with people who have such problems and we need to devote our time and energy to those we can help.

Thanks for the explanation. One reason I held off on the post was I was uncertain what I was picking up on (especially in relation to visual/auditory disturbances which I know can be related to mental illness) and was hoping someone more experienced would be able to highlight what it was. I'm glad I did now.

It is sad to hear about the guy, I hope he gets the help he needs. It sounds like you guys put a lot of effort into trying to help him.

I grasped it when I read the session, but for some reason forgot....I must remember this for the sake of others.
....seems I'm learning a lot today about the same subject.....and it could be I'm avoiding facing the horror of it all by trying to wake other up inappropriately. Externalising what I should be internalising.

That's something I have been contemplating a lot recently. Of late I have been chatting up with my school friends online and asking some indirect questions about their experiences and desire to seek more knowledge on what goes around in the world. And the reception I am getting is pretty common across the board, some of them are so content with their life, asleep deep into coma that I've stopped pushing it. I just feel that sometimes people are better left alone to themselves otherwise it would be interfering with their free-will.
PS- The spam dude above seems to me an agent rather than a disturbed individual.

Apologies if my reply to noJoke came off as blunt. I can relate to the instability and all the rest, that's a gauntlet many of us walk during the detox phase of waking up, osit. If not for this place, I don't think I'd be able to navigate as well through the darkness. :(

Man, is that cheesy or what? I need to go hug my dog.... ;)

No, I think it's simply the truth for most of us....

Always a good use of one's time. There's a little bit of advice that hangs from my keychain: "When in doubt... hug the dog". I follow it often.

:P
