The 4th of July

I would like to propose the following, which I have written, as an article:

Due to the recent "discussions" that have taken place on SoTT.net, I have considered many of the points made by others, and have decided to continue with my plans to host a gathering of my family and friends on the 4th of July. But this time, however, I have prepared a speech to promote an understanding of the actual meaning that the day commemorates.

I have decided to do this, because I now realize that it is the 'instincts' of non-psychopathic, normal people that fuel their beliefs and behaviors to varying degrees. I realize that the real problem is that most people only think they know the interpretation of their instincts and have accepted a 'belief', an interpretation of those instincts, from their authorities, without being grounded in objective reason and logic. They are unwilling to concede to the truth because their 'instincts' fuel their resolve and direct confrontation of their beliefs only inflames their instinctual defensive nature.

Even though their, I should say OUR, beliefs may not be the Truth, the instincts themselves are not necessarily wrong. As Łobaczewski said in his book Political Ponerology:

“. . . our instinct is our first tutor, whom we carry inside all our lives. Proper child-rearing is thus not limited to teaching a young person to control the overly violent reactions of his instinctual emotionalism; it also aught to teach him to appreciate the wisdom of nature contained and speaking through his instinctive endowment."[1]

"This substratum contains millions of years' worth of bio-psychological development that was the product of species' life conditions, so it neither is nor can be a perfect creation. Our well known weaknesses of human nature and errors in the natural perception and comprehension of reality have thus been conditioned on that phylogenetic level for millennia."[2]

The fact of the matter is that there are actual threats to humanity, both from psychopaths and climate/cometary interactions. Humanity is being terrorized deliberately by psychopaths in our governments and corporations, etc. There is a real need to defend against these, by arming one's self with the Truth. There is a need to be suspicious of those who seek to harm us.

I also realize that regardless of our (all of humanity) views, it is our 'self-righteousness' that is the trigger, which releases our aggression, and we must counteract that tendency, by understanding the situation and try to connect with others using our 'instinctual' similarities, instead of focusing on our 'rational' differences. Focusing on differences leads to division, which is the timeless tool of empire: Divide and Conquer.

In order to help in what small way I can in the fight for Truth and human rights, I have chosen to use the power and enthusiasm embedded within the symbolism of the 4th of July, and redirect them as a force for 'good'. It is for that reason that I will give give the following speech to the small gathering of my family and friends:

The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4th, 1776. However, when it looked like the signing would take place on July 2nd, 1776, John Adams, who would become the second president of the United States, wrote the memorable words that define the annual commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. This day, according to John Adams, "will be celebrated by succeeding generations, as the day of deliverance with pomp and parade, with guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other."[3]

"The Albany Congress, then the Stamp Act Congress, and finally the two Continental Congress never intended to act as a government. . . . But the Second Continental Congress, the only elected body of representatives of all the colonies, assumed that role. It appointed [George Washington] a general for the ages to lead the freely formed republican army besieging the troops of empire in Boston. And then, on July 4th 1776, it declared to the world that governments derive their just power only from the consent of the governed for the purpose of protecting the unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that when any government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it: that the United States of America would now assume the separate and equal station among the powers of the earth which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them."[4]

As with all of our symbols, the 4th of July has been hijacked and stolen from us and its meaning altered in order to garner our unquestionable support of the same Imperial Tyranny that the Declaration of Independence was written in defiance of. Those powers have succeeded in seducing our reason and has garnered our unquestionable support for their 'interests' against the principles of our Declaration of Independence, under the umbrella of "national security."

The phrase "national security" is taken to essentially mean those activities undertaken to secure our national interests, which we define to be the principles embodied in the Declaration of Independence. But this definition is not the official definition of that phrase. The phrase "national interests" in reality, has no actual, or official, definition whatsoever. It is in fact whatever is determined by those in power, including those in government, commerce and finance who collude with each other to secure their interests at the expense of our rights and resources.

The 4th of July, as defined by John Adams, to "be celebrated by succeeding generations, as the day of deliverance with pomp and parade . . ." has lost, and in fact, has had deliberately omitted from it, the crucial concept of "deliverance", and has instead become simply a day "celebrated by succeeding generations, as the day . . . with pomp and parade . . ." etc.

The crucial concept of "deliverance" which has been omitted from our cultural consciousness, does not denote the winning of American independence, but rather the deliverance of the American people, by themselves, from the "idea" that they are subjects of an empire, that their rights derive from the dictates of the sovereign of that empire, that their interests are the same as those of the Empire.

On the 4th of July 1776 the American people Declared their Independence from Imperial Tyranny, they Seceded from the Empire, they declared their Right to Not-Associate with Psychopaths, and they delivered themselves from the "idea" that they were subjects of an empire who dictated to them what their "national interests" were.

There is little that we can do to recover that which was stolen from us by psychopaths and the powers of Imperial Tyranny, but we can, and should recover our symbols, give them their proper meanings and use the power imbedded within them to secure our rights and the rights of others.

Although, our attempts in this regard will be modest, let us remember the symbolic 'modest attempt' of the American Colonies who stood up to the greatest Empire in the world, with the greatest economic, financial and military forces. This symbol does not just belong to Americans, but to all humanity, as it is part of all of our collective history and embodies the timeless cyclic struggle of normal people resisting the powers of psychopathic Imperial Tyranny.

Therefore, in that sentiment, I believe that we should celebrate this day as it was originally intended, read the Declaration of Independence in its entirety and understand the meaning of the historical expression of this timeless symbol of humanity.

Thank you Críostóir,
I've really enjoyed reading your text. Thanks for sharing with your loved ones and in the forum.
It is the long history of psychopathic thefts from all the efforts of human beings. Theft of spiritual truths established religions (and all deviations in values-morals), the theft of the meanings of words and of our planetary history.
How to recover deep meanings? How bring to normal people the symbols that psychopaths have co-opted, and with which manipulate the minds and hearts of the people to direct them (we all) to destruction? Ordinary people do not have big media to fight against propaganda. Can we change the perspective ("the positions instinctive") of someone with a good conversation?.

The quote of the day of SOTT:

If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

I think that if individuals recognize the "normal people" meaning of phrases and symbols and also recognize the difference between that meaning and the meaning attached to those symbols by psychopaths, then they can essentially build an immunity to the psychopathic virus so to speak, and can then affect others around them, possibly spreading the 'immunity' via information. I also think that individuals need to connect with others and share information and views so as to continually 'update' their immunity because the psychopathic virus, so to speak, continually morphs and evolves.

I think that big media programs a 'normalizing effect', which ordinary people look to as a standard of how ordinary people behave and think, then they alter their behaviors and thoughts in order to 'fit in' or to be normal. But, the real influence of what is normal is not necessarily the media, but people you interact with on a daily basis. I wouldn't say that we can actually change a perspective with a good conversation, so to speak, but rather, we can provide a sense of solidarity with those who have similar views that have been internally suppressed due to to a 'normalizing effect'.

I would also like to add that you can't speak the truth to someone if you don't speak the same language. In the case of the 4th of July, many Americans do not see it as a symbol of something bad, which it is inherently not. They tend to see their country as a good car with a bad person behind the wheel. Therefore, they regard their country as still 'good' as in the sense it is the same structure as the founders intended and they don't see, or understand that it has been fundamentally altered.

I also appreciate your article, Críostóir. This part in particular speaks to me:

Self-importance sure gets in the way of external considering and empathy, eh?

Out of curiosity, how did your reading go? How did your family respond?

Surprisingly well actually. It was kind of weird at first to read the speech, because it was out of the ordinary for the usual 4th of July celebration. But once I finished there were a lot of nodding heads and looks of 'mental effort' on faces. Then I read the entire Declaration of Independence, and those parts that have current relevancy received shouts of support and approval. I had a lot of support and appreciation for the effort. It was very well received. It also sparked some lively discussions, which surprised me. One relative declared that his family would start using the Betsy Ross version of the American flag instead of the current version, because it hasn't been used by the forces of empire and there is no confusion as to what it represents. That seemed to receive approval and support. So after the fact, I think many were in the process of re-defining their American identity, separating imperial from the republican so to speak.
