I am just finishing The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles and Their Secret World War, by Stephen Kinzer, published by St. Martins Griffin.
It's an absolutely amazing, terrifying tale of how these two men set up and, to a remarkable degree, controlled American Foreign Policy for decades. The intertwining of their political actions with their Wall Street connections is detailed. All that we are seeing today seems to be an extension of policies and philosophies (American Exceptionalism and Imperialism) they so adroitly put in place. It is very scary and disheartening to read about the extraordinary power two men wielded which shape our world to this day. Highly recommended.
