The Child Race-Doll Test

Apart from how sad this is, the test does feel "off", but that's mostly due to it being a CNN produced "test." Do check the comments, if only briefly.

Again have a look at the comments.

Well, I get the point but the child is being asked specifically to pick out a child that looks 'good' or 'mean' etc. With no other references than a cartoon drawing, of course the only thing she can do is associate the positive traits with the drawing which looks most like herself, and the negative traits with the drawing which looks least like herself. With the same drawing repeated, with nothing changing other than skin colour of course we get the results we get. That pattern seems to repeat throughout. I have to also add, I think this is fairly abusive manipulation and doesn't demonstrate racism but a natural inclination to associate with others who most resemble ourselves. Actually I'll go further.. that's really ruined my morning

As a woman of color raised in a society created on slavery and a system based on color, this is truer than you can believe or explained in a short explanation. People of color in my society were bred to be servants to other human beings. How better to keep these servants in a state of servility than through self hate?

Even today 100+ years after the "abolishment" of slavery persons of color are still viewed differently than other human beings? Out of external consideration I reserve the rest of my comments.. below are some other links that may be of interest.
