There is a great docu, by Werner Herzog, about a Festival in India, where all the local traditional dancers, artists, musicians, singers and so on perform in the palace of the Maharajah.
There is one point where a kind of bard, anounces the beginning of the festival chanting beautiful poetry:
People from all the regions of the windrose
we the dream workers, have gathered here
to pay homage to beauty and keep evil distant
to mingle music with dance
give laughter space
side by side with amazement
We bring you the mysteries
and rituals of infinite worlds
that we call the Indian world
may the gods bless our action
