The French Connection

Greetings Laura,

Is there any possible way of forumites getting a copy of the 'French Connection' article which was originally posted on the cassiopaea.org website? Please accept my apologies if i am bringing attention to a forbidden topic. I don't want to put you guys in any trouble. I just wanted to know if there's an article on a non-french server.

Cheers

This subject was discussed at several places on this forum. See for instance:

The subject belongs to the past and what we have learned from our experience - we share with our readers. The way I look at it is: The particular details are not important. The conclusions are. When you tread in a field loaded with mines and under enemy's fire, a caution is needed. Of course too much caution is not good either. A balance is needed. And what you CAN do at any given moment depends on the particular circumstances of the moment. Line 1 in hexagram 39 of I Ching (relevant to this case) reads:

When one encounters an obstruction, it is important to reflect on how best to deal with it. When danger threatens, to strive blindly ahead leads to complications. The correct way is to retreat: not in order to give up the struggle, but to await the right moment for action.
Line 2 in the same hexagram (also relevant) reads:

Normally it is best to go around obstacles, but if a man's duty, in the service of a higher cause, is to seek out danger and to confront it, he may do so without compunction, even though difficulty piles upon difficulty. It is not through any fault of his that he puts himself into danger. No blame.

Thank you for the link and the excerpts from the i-ching reflecting the essence of what you have learnt from the experience.
