Has anyone watched this movie, I watched it year ago but I heard that most people didn't even heard about it because it was released in time when other movies like War of the worlds and others came so it fell in their shadow. I want tell anything about it, you should watch it, it's mysterious in the beginning but the story unravels so i don't want to spoil it, it's good example of manipulating and conspiracy, the story is good but there is violence also in it which isn't nothing new.

Trailer:

Update: trailer isn't good it's better to not watch the trailer at all, i found that someone uploaded it on youtube, quality seems fine so if you like:

I recall watching this movie when it first came out and really liking it. I liked it way better than War of the Worlds, that's for sure :P

Funny that I saw this thread: I have just finished watching the DVD -just an hour ago.
Great movie, and it protrays men's greed and his fear of death and much more.

It even shows a glimpse of OUR situation: In this case clones that are running away from their owners (the corporation that "grew" them). Clones question the reason why they exist.

They are even given "false" lifetime memory imprints though these adult clones are 3 to 4 years-old only.

Best to view it and notice possible similarities to the current condition.

hi, yeah good film. cant help but think that this is going on today somewhere in the world..
well worth checking out freemantv web site and the piece on obaaama is a clone.. :/

Thanks for creating this thread. It pushed me to see the film. I found it to be useful.

Interesting concepts I see in the film:
  • A human clone society living a big lie. Similar to the 'matrix control system' we live in.
  • Holographic projection technology.
  • Human clone technology.
  • Human clone does not have soul (a character says this). Which leads me to Organic Portals concept.
Human clone dreams:
  • Dream concepts no previously learned by the clone. Anomaly.
  • Dream concepts which are an indication of ¿precognition?
  • Human clone feeling instincts such as 'motorbike driving', designing, drawing/painting.
Psychopathy group and society:
  • A lot of people working on a company that is doing something that is illegal.
  • ¿Employees without 'ethics' or 'moral values?
  • A customer that 'discover the truth' but does not develop a 'shocking reaction'. This character shows no care, no mercy, for the 'clone'. This being life is like an object.
  • At the end you see which people do really have some 'ethics' or 'moral values'.
Clone anomaly analysis:
  • Curiosity leads to neural network development.
  • The spark for more knowledge, for questions and answers, leads to more 'awareness' and change the inner neuronal network. The opposite of mechanic tasks, repetitive, regular habits, with no new input neither output.
A sentence: the company boss says somewhat ' you could live, but you've decided to return'.
  • Interesting: they killed the customer, and the clone brain seems to be developing and adding memories from the original host. So he indeed is becoming the customer/person. So seems there is no need to seek and destroy him.
  • Interesting: ¿why he returned? ¿Ethics? He is not showing any trail of psychopathy or any other illness related. I mean difficult to understand why engaging into an 'impossible mission', when most people would think on flee and forget.

I found the film is good. In regard to ponerology (I'm reading the book, and I recommended it), it is interesting to distinguish in the story line, people with such lack of feelings. Of how the entire group is working, the 'society' also if I analyse the behaviour of the customer.

Thanks.

I first watched this film when it came out on DVD, but I never thought of it being shown in theater as it did fell into the shadow with Wars of the World (which I did watched in theater) came out at the same time.

I thought the film was pretty good as it has a similar Matrix themes, the importance of curiosity (questioning one's existence, etc.), and fighting for one's survival. I'd recommend it.

:)

A worth watching movie ,i watched long time ago but i will find it and will watch again , its interesting and i would say it shows a reflection about our reality, and how those in power (power elite) are treating people, like an object for satisfaction their needs, nothing more . :(

Own the movie, it's pretty good. What I really enjoyed was the acting by the two main leads. Their juvenile, immature personalities really come across well.

On a side note, if y'all are gonna post spoilers, best to put big bold SPOLIER ALERT Before doing so. I'm sure there are people that haven't seen the movie yet and may not want to have the main plot-twist spoiled by discussion of clones and such. Little exercise in external consideration goes a long way. ;D

I watched this movie the other day. While I think it had an interesting story, with some valuable aspects worth pondering that some of you have mentioned in this thread, I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the long scenes of people chasing people, shootings, and overall violence.

This is something that is becoming increasingly prominent in all Hollywood films. Scenes of violence often seem to have an independent life from the film, as in, they have to be there no matter what the movie is about, and they take a considerable amount of time from the total movie length. It seems to be the million dollar Hollywood recipe to making a movie :(

So all in all, I did find it an interesting watch but partly spoiled by what were, for me, unnecessarily long parts whose purpose seemed to follow that recipe, rather then enriching the movie.

Edit: modified sentence for clarity

I agree with Gertrudes. I thought this movie had some interesting ideas in it as explained earlier in this thread but it is mainly an action movie with lots of violence and chase scenes. I was disappointed by the end of the film because it was mainly just a long action sequence and nothing interesting really happened.
