Watched movie and it is great beside sad story what this movie carries, it shows nice moments after "life" but still on earth struggling to pass bright light.
Must say that movie put a "scar" in your mind and heart for time when you watch and after.
It shows behind curtain more but i will leave for people to watch it.

Watched the movie tonight (haven't read the book therefore cannot compare the two). I'm told that the book itself is more explicit describing the murders. The movie itself is really powerful stuff as well but delivers it in a more subtle way. Towards the end of the movie I had a very strong emotional reaction, not mechanical, but truly feeling for the suffering of all the murdered little girls/boys in the world. That carried through and when I got back home and I did the full E/E program had a strong emotional outpour with sobs and tears. On the way home I was thinking about the growing number of missing children, not just the murdered ones, also the ones abducted by the 4D STS.

I think the movie gives a good view of the deviant predator's world, how he hides among us with the mask of sanity on, meticulously planning where to strike next. Overall I do recommend to see it but be ready for some powerful stuff.

I read the book but I don't really want to see the movie. The author also wrote a book based on her true story; the book is called 'Lucky'. She was raped in real life and she describes in this book her struggles that she had to go through after this horrendous experience. The reason I picked up her book 'Lucky' is that I was myself sexually assaulted. She is an amazing individual, extremely courageous and strong and just so beautiful. The book is definitely worth reading.

Yes, and I am really grateful to Peter Jackson for that. It was disturbing enough without explicit murder scenes.

I think the main underlying thread of this movie is creation vs. entropy and it was beautifully woven, definitely a must see although not for faint hearted.

I agree. I watched this movie last night and enjoyed it very much. I also have not read the book but I thougt the movie was wonderful. And some of the visuals were stunning.

I give this movie my personal thumbs up.

*spoiler*

When I watched the trailer of the movie, I thought it was going to be about the father (mark walberg) going out to get revenge for his daughter's murder. Therefore the ending was a bit of surprise for me since it kind of showed that the universe has a way of making things right so to speak via karma.
I also thought the comaprison of life and pictures was beautiful and left me in thought and teary eyed.

I liked it although it is stir up a lot of emotions because it's never easy to deal with the loss of someone, especially your own child.
It makes you think and cry.
The visuals are very nice as well.
