I have been a fan of the Mayan Calendar for years. Now its gone mainstream, and a new doom movie about to go to the masses. I am taking pause to look at its origins. Is it a genuine article that is being manipulated for mass consumption, or could it have questionable origins?
The best results I can find for its author is Quetzalcoatl/Kukulcan (these two seem to be the same deity, Mexican and Mayan) if so, this “deity” was said to have come from over the sea, taught community building, gave the Calendar, and also (separately) gave the doomsday prophecy, and left. He was said to have blue eyes, white hair and beard, also noted as appearing as serpent or feathered serpent.
All material had been burned/broken by the Spaniards? …then in 1739 the Dresden Codex was purchased in Vienna. How it got to Vienna is unknown. Later in 1790 the calendar stone was found in Mexico city.
Is it a genuine article open for interpretation, or a time travelers marker left in the not too distant past for the masses?
I apologize if this subject has already been covered, but my searches did not find this aspect covered. If this subject (were they time travelers) is posted some where else please advise.
