The Mothman Prophecies

If you've ever had an experience of this kind, seeing an entity, all I can say is that this "feels" more right on the money than any other movie representation of the phenomena, particularly the garish fantasia of Steven Spielberg.

I agree. Having more knowledge about UFOs and paranormal phenomena now, as well made a movie as e.g. Close Encounters of the Third Kind is, the spin about the aliens being "nice" contaminates the watching experience.

The movie version of The Mothman Prophecies is surprisingly successful, and portrays the "real phenomena" very well.

If this "feels" more right on the money than any other movie representation of the phenomena, then the phenomena feels pretty scary to me

Watched the The Mothman Prophecies (film Wiki) this evening, and it was good.

While the movie is inspired by a book, one could also write a book of fiction based on the movie. Interestingly the main character is called John Klein who in the film contacts an author the name Alexander Leek, (Leek is Keel spelled backwards). A suspicion is that John Keel gave the ideas for two characters John Klein and Aleksander Leek.

There are many of concepts that could be followed up with research by interested viewers. To name some: apparitions, missing time experiences, abductions (though this is not strongly suggested, but you also have the lights go out, batteries depleted elements in some of those reports), prophesy, free will and destiny, deja vu experiences and other highly strange events.

I don't know if many viewers took a hint from the lyrics of one of the songs in the movie, Wake Up # 37. Since there is no spoiler in posting the text as found below this YouTube upload of the song, here it is:
Wake up slowly, now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly, now you’re dreaming

It’s a good life, well it’s better than the future
Take a slow dive, along the cold and winding river to the door
To the door
I’ve been picking up the pieces from a brokedown life
I’ve been feeling like a little child alone and scared inside
If the voices in my head bother you I’ll turn it down
I don’t know which way to go to lead myself back home
My way back home, yeah

Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up, wake up
Wake up, wake up, wake up
Wake up number 37
Wake up number 37

For the first time you can see yourself believing
All the clear signs like a path descending inwards
There’s a ringing in your ear from the strange and hollow voice
If your eyes were always flashing just right before your life
Maybe things have changed enough you can rest your head
We don’t know which way to go to lead ourselves back home
Our way back home, yeah

Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming
Wake up slowly now you’re dreaming…

Hope for your help

In the movie, Alexander Leek tells John Klein that around the time of the Chernobyl accident there were many sightings of mothman like creatures. In this regard, there was on SOTT.net Blackbird of Chernobyl: Staff claimed to have seen creepy Mothman-like creature before blast Here is a search link to other articles about or related to the Mothman phenomenon.

The Chernobyl accident actually happened almost 20 years after the Mothman incidence that the movie is based on, so the whole plot of the film only borrows elements from the book by John Keel.

Incidentally, yesterday April 26, was the 39 year anniversary of the Chernobyl accident in Ukraine. The chances of watching a movie referencing the Chernobyl accident either on or within a day of the anniversary is 3/365, so that was a bit strange.

It has been many years since I watched this movie & I was only just telling an acquaintance about it two days ago. I thought it was well done and I enjoyed it, but it certainly is creepy and stayed with me for days after.
And to add to the mysterious occurrences mentioned above, I think there were men in black characters (MIBs) as well.
