The respectable BBC

At first I thought Martha Neyman (The Wave, book 6) was being ironic when she wrote to Laura -

...but to believe the respectable BBC of England [no less] is part of a plot to hide the truth of Rennes-le-Chateau in a sort of double psychology game, I think is going a bit too far.

Is this the same respectable BBC that has,for decades, covered up mass paedophilia amongst its ranks, including the mega-serial child rapist, Jimmy Saville?

Or the same respectable BBC whose bosses are currently being interrogated by the government accusing it of corruption - particularly in terms of its policy on paying bonuses and perks to ... well ... themselves?

No Martha, it's ridiculous to suggest that the respectable BBC would ever think of acting in an underhand way on behalf of anyone - no matter how powerful they might be.

The BBC are beyond parody, Saville only being the tip of the iceberg! Its not so much the horrible damage that he did to so many people its the complete and utter arrogance of the cover up. They are supposed to be the bastions of impartiality and respected reporters of the truth around the world.

Best thing to do, dump the TV, and do not pay the telly tax!

Absolutely, Esoterica. If there is anything worth watching on TV (not often) I link computer to TV via HDML cable, and watch recordings - no TV licence needed for that.
