So I had my results and evidently my doctor was a fear monger, told me that my cholesterol was very high, surely he was supposed to give some pills for it but he will wait 6 months after I have to follow a rabbit diet. I said to all his advises yes sir! He advised me also to stop right now to smoke. Yes sir! And I left.

When I asked him what was the limit for the cholesterol he said 200. I really don't know. So I said yes, sir!

These are the numbers, can someone be gentle and tell me if I am to be scare? I don't think so but to be sure.

Cholesterol: 246 mg/dl

Cholesterol HDL: 92 mg/dl

Cholesterol LDL: 137

The rest he told me was ok, my thyroid also was ok.

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not a doctor, but when my doctor told me I had to go on Lipitor because my cholesterol was high I told him I would not ever consider taking that crap into my body. He tried to convince me it was really great stuff by telling me he has been taking it for years as a 'preventive'. Go figure!

Not only does it not do any real good unless one has a really severe overabundance of cholesterol, but it has really serious side effects. It does nothing to prevent heart attacks or strokes. Research has shown that those with the highest cholesterol levels live longer than those with the lowest levels.

You are apparently just outside the 'normal' levels guidelines. Who is it that decides what is normal and healthy and what levels are harmful? Most likely the drug company 'researchers'!

I would not for a second worry about it or do anything different than what we here have been finding is good for our health - both individually, and as a group.

Thank you Richard, I agree with you. But with my doctor I was playing the good patient. In fact I know it is good news that my cholesterol is high, I just want to be reassured. I will never, ever take their pills. I know how vendors of pills they are, how hypocritical they are, and at the limit of criminals. When I told him that I have a very fat diet he did not listen to me. He tried to scare me putting faces of terror when I told him I smoke cigarettes. And his diet went simply to the garbage.

How lucky, really! we are to be in this forum, to know Sott.net! Because here we can have really a good health education. I can not imagine myself if I was not informed of all these things, cholesterol, diet, cigarettes, information about politics, psychopathy, spiritual guidance, etc. We are really, really lucky to be protected by all this information thanks to so many people here... In fact it save our lives.

Thanks for your advice, Richard!

Cholesterol is precious for body - don't believe anti-cholesterol propaganda.

Several times the cholesterol issue has been asked about and several times the answer has been given - rather repetitiously, I should add. So perhaps it would be easier for you to search the forum for those responses and compare your own results rather than to have the persons who repeatedly give these answers have to do the searching themselves to hand it to you?

Time to change of doctor.

And there are very good articles on Sott about it too.

Loreta, always look at your triglycerides. That is the super bad cholesterol. It is very good when it is less than 100 or close to it.

It is a good idea for all members to review the cholesterol data before getting the results. Ignorance is the norm in mainstream medicine when it comes to cholesterol. For example, this lipid profile is among the best one I ever seen. HDL is very high and the rest of the numbers were once considered normal before the statin era. No reason to suffer even 5 seconds over it. Knowledge protects!

Sorry if I disturbed with noise. I will check others people who asked for help.
