This really repulsive. Just found this about the same thopic:
Reasserting its core values as a company dedicated to the customers and communities it serves, Citizens Financial Group today announced a new corporate platform built around the concept that "Good Banking is Good Citizenship," reflecting the heritage of both Citizens Bank and Charter One.
or:
A GOOD CITISENSHIP IS A GOOD BUSSINES. We believe that banks have obligations and responsibilities to the communities they serve. Banks allow citizens to invest in other citizens, and in the businesses those citizens create. We've invested in the communities in which we live. And in the technology and products that give the people in those communities a better experience. We think being a part of the community means also being accessible and accountable to it. And it is something that we have been doing for 182 years

In the aftermath of the financial crisis and growing distrust of major banks, the parent of Citizens Bank is retooling its multimillion-dollar marketing budget to help regain customers’ trust. The new campaign will focus on the slogan: “Good banking is Good Citizenship.’’
“It’s a reminder of who we are,’’ said Ellen Alemany, chief executive of Citizens Financial Group, the parent of Citizens Bank. “We have always been very committed to our communities, our customers, and our colleagues.’’
The ad campaign comes as Citizens and its parent company continue to deal with the effects of the crisis. Citizens, the second-largest bank in New England, is a unit of the Royal Bank of Scotland, which required a $74 billion bailout from the British government. And Citizens itself wrote off billions of dollars in bad loans after the US housing market collapsed, though the company says its core operations are profitable again.
“Everyone has got to play their part in restoring trust in the financial services industry,’’ Alemany said in an interview at the company’s headquarters in downtown Providence. “Good banking is good citizenship. Good citizenship rebuilds trust. Trust rebuilds consumer confidence, and it is consumer confidence that is going to rebuild this economy.’’
The campaign, developed by Ogilvy & Mather of New York, will include print and online ads and television commercials, including some that will run during the finale of “American Idol.’’
In some of the ads, employees talk about their contributions to the community. Others will feature actors portraying America’s founders linking citizenship to banking. The bank, which also plans to paper South Station with ads, predicts 98 percent of its target audience will see the ads an average 30 times during an eight-week period.
Citizens said it is not spending additional money on the ad campaign, but refocusing its existing marketing budget. AdAge.com estimated the account is worth roughly $20 million a year.
Other banks are tweaking their marketing as well. Bank of America, the biggest bank in the region, recently partnered with the History Channel to produce a dozen documentary-style ads depicting its history. One of the banks acquired by Bank of America traces its roots to Massachusetts Bank, established in Boston in 1784. John Hancock and Paul Revere were among the founders.
And Eastern Bank of Boston is developing a campaign to promote the fact that it beat Bank of America, Citizens, and several other banks in customer satisfaction in a new JD Power and Associates survey.
