Hi transientP
I read it some years ago (along with the rest of his books, even have the DVD). And at the time it 'seemed to fit' so I know where you are coming from....but looking back I can see the things he is missing/has simplified etc. Without that context of being able to see what he has missed you can be easily trapped.
Essential psychopathy, 4D STS (and the fact that they can and do 'pose as angels'/set up 'synchonisities'), sending love/light (or in his suggestion - seeing the 'true face', very dangerous if dealing with a psychopath) is no better than sending a bucket of sick to those who don't want it (it is a violation of there free will)....those are the most glaring omissions I can think of when recalling the book, but none the less crucial.
So what it boils down to is cointelpro. That of a deliberate or unconscious (he seemed well meaning) or a bit of both trap/diversion from the truth of our reality, into wishful (love and light/all is well) thinking.

i found it interesting that the author doesn't shy away from describing the STS modality, albeit, it is almost completely conjectured to be a result of ignorance / fear.
At the time I found it quite enthralling, but with the above context I'd say it misses some very important points so is essentially nothing but fantasy version of reality (that most people subscribe to) in that 'everyone has good inside them' or 'we are all capable of evil'.....both of which psychopaths use to hide in plain sight.

The Group in the book that is looking to bring about an apocalypse is doing so purely because of a religious belief. It didn't choose to address the possibility that these types of attitudes in people or groups can be engendered.
What it did suggest was that these attitudes where something that could be countered in specific ways....seeing the persons 'true face' (the 'good inside everyone') was the one I remember. A group of people could amplify the effect too if I remember correctly. Boils down to 'sending love and light'.
The fact that psychopaths are devoid of empathy and free to do as they please with no remorse is completely missed, and any good psychopath you meet who you 'try and see there true face' will mirror back all the (false) beauty you are trying so desperately to see (because the alternative is too horrifying). Religious beliefs are often used as a 'mask' for psychopaths too....a psychopath who is a Jew for example could wield the 'antisemitic' stick quite profusely. A psychopath who is a Christian (and/or has chosen to utilise religious identity to his own ends) may preach hell fire and brim stone to gain power over others.
So again I think this aspect of the book is again a fantasy/misses the crux of the matter.
Psychopaths destroy the world just because its in there nature to do so.....just as a tornado destroys everything in its path - even if you can see 'its true face'.
There are a few threads on the forum discussing James Redfield so you may want to search for them :)
